The fairgrounds, campground was a great place to stay over night! Easy pull off from I20!
Grounds were mowed and clean. we parked on asphalt, fairly level. No one else, except us 2 RVs, were there! It’s the old school back up spots, but since no one else was there we pulled up on the side. Full hooks-ups! $25, good deal.
Fairly quiet night, we had good sleep.
Took the dog for nice walks on the premises.
Offices to pay is right on site, building has a big “office” sign upfront, can’t miss it! Oh! There are RRs opened. Didn’t check them out🤷🏽♀️
Very friendly staff!
Call ahead… There is a gate security! Which is nice too!
GetzsnTx!
I called the office a couple of weeks before our trip. They were friendly and said that we didn’t need reservations, we just needed to arrive before 5 pm. On our arrival, the office staff was super friendly and gave us great recommendations for restaurants. We were the only camper in the parking lot. Although our first impression of the area was that it was a little sketchy, we found the hookups to be great, the night was quiet, and the guard at the gate added a layer of security. The Fair Ground is centrally located to everything in Shreveport. Full hookups, central location, guarded, and friendly staff for $25 a night is an incredible bargain for city camping. Will stay here again.
We pulled in on a Saturday and the security gate didn’t even seem to know they rented RV sites. After a short wait and a phone call it was figured out and we were directed where to go. We were just not feeling it, the facility appeared very run down. We checked a few of the electrical boxes and I was worried about plugging into either of them. I walked around about 10 minutes and followed my gut feeling and decided to move on. We moved on to the margaritaville casino and boon docked with several more rigs and felt much more confident.
