Been in with 30’ travel trailer and 35’ fifth wheel. There is not a ton of space to turn around depending on who’s already there do scout ahead. The little turn into the dugout is a little steep so watch your bumpers if you’re a bumper pull. Great spot with river access and beautiful views. Near the road but not too noisy. There is a shooting range across the way that is loud in the canyon if that bothers you be aware. As you approach from the south - there are two bridges that look like they go across the river - the old iron truss bridge that’s and further north is closed, use the south beam bridge. GPS may tell you to take the north bridge but that is not an option.

We came on a Monday evening in August and had the site to ourselves. The entry wasn’t too bad, we pull a travel trailer and had no issue. Not nearly as steep as the Waddington Creek site across the river.
We had 6.6Mbps down, 2.6Mbps up on AT&T (unboosted) which was perfectly fine for streaming videos and our work needs.
The road in is dirt and the site is grassy, if it was raining we’d probably hesitate to come here.
We had hot weather but a nice breeze and we got up super early to check out the hot springs.
There’s also some really interesting historical plaques about Dugout Dick and you can check out the home he built into the hillside (from the outside, anyway). Cool slice of history, for sure.
There is a shooting range directly across the river. Heard a lot of gun fire when we first arrived at 6pm but it stopped about 30 minutes later.

No camping sign at this spot, which was disappointing as it was time to find rest. You can look at the outside of hermit Dick Zimmerman’s dugout cave home and read about the Idaho hermit.
