“where everything is homemade”
After 25 years in the trucking and cattle business, Gretchen and I opened Fat Boy’s Bar-B-Que Ranch in downtown Prattville on the banks of the Autauga Creek. When the opportunity came to open a restaurant I asked the Lord what he wanted me to do. After a lot of encouragement from friends and ferverent prayers, the Lord simply said, “Trust Me”. And I did. We leased a facility in 1998 and embarked in a new career that we had no prior experience. In our restaurant of 52 seats, we opened on June 1 and suffered a fire 2 ½ months later. We remodeled and expanded the capacity to 75 seats and reopened in January 1999. A year later the restaurant was enlarged to a capacity of 175 with a new dining room and was established as an icon of local flavor where “everything is homemade….the way its supposed to be”.
