Small campground in a small city. In the middle of the park, little traffic noise. Playgrounds, picnic areas, even a small train. Great for overnight with electric and water. Dump station nearby.
Pratt Kansas has a slew of small city parks that are all concentrated in one area. This RV park is easy to get to either via 6th or 9th Street, and is conveniently close to any amenities you might need when traveling across Kansas via US400.
This is a basic municipal RV park - about 10 sites in along row, with water (good pressure) and electric (30 amp). Trash cans conveniently located about every 3-4 sites. No open fires allowed. The dump station is near the 9th street entrance but it is padlocked; you must go to a city office (hours 8 am-4 pm) or the police department (open 24-7) to get a key. We didn't need it bad enough to deal with two trips to get and return a key but it looked typical for a dump site (and was clean). On Sept 24, 2020 we were the only people reserving a spot.
There is a generous sized gravel parking lot so backing In was easy=peasy. Along the south edge of the parking lot is a baseball field, with the RV parking spots are on the north edge. Parking is on grass but sites are level. There was no shade over the RV sites but plenty of shade in the surrounding parks (it was about 90 degrees when we arrived - our RV warmed us quickly). We watched a high school's softball practice for a spell, enjoyed a leisurely stroll thru the beautiful park, watched kiddos playing at a massive playground, then picked up dinner at Taco Bell, before getting much needed rest for our long drive home.
Overnight was very quiet - We think we heard faint traffic noise but all in all this was a bargain for a city RV park. Clean, safe, quiet, level, easy parking, easy hookups - what more could you want (Besides shade)?

Great city campground for a quiet overnight stay. We registered at the city hall, toured the town & settled in for a peaceful evening. The park has a nice play area, ball fields & even a small train. Being so close to December the park was decorated for a drive thru Holiday Parade of Lights. The city has a system of city parks.
Our experience is colored by being the ONLY people in the park, and there were no ball games going on. This is just the gravelly fringe of a parking lot next to a ball field. There's grass adjacent, a few tables, a clean public restroom (no showers) and a lovely park in all directions. City owned dump is across street and down a bit. It worked for us. No one bothered us, just a couple of boys got dropped off to practice batting (and sneak a smoke). We loved Pratt.
This city park is pure Americana in a storybook mid-western town. There are 10 grass/ gravel sites with water and electric (30/50) hookups on the edge of the main parking lot next to the ball fields. Super quiet and a couple of blocks from the main street with shopping and restaurants nearby. Self register at the site, money in the envelope in the pay box. We were the only ones there listening to the distant trains horns as they passed through town. Dump site is also in the park, but get key from the nearby city office. Fabulous overnight!!
This is a gravel parking lot by the ball field and city park. There’s 10 spots with electricity, water and trash. Sites are gravel/grass and pretty level. Everything is well maintained. Lots of room. We were able to pull through our 39’ 5er because none of the spots were occupied. Very quiet, we were the only rv. Lots of room for the dogs to run. This is a gem in a charming rural Kansas town.
I arrived after hours but had contacted City Hall and they let me know there’s a drop box to leave the $10 payment on the honor system. Saw police patrolling the park as I pulled in just before 11:00 pm. I was the only camper this night. Very peaceful. Saw lots of RVs at the Walmart (free) a couple miles away
We are returning to the East Coast from Colorado and couldn’t find any RV parks we really wanted to visit. We got in around 9:00pm and no one was there. Water/Power/Trash and level parking (no sewer). You can pay at the site (envelope and drop box) Parking area is big so even if you can’t get a hookup you could boondock with no problems. Would definitely stay here again.
We arrived here after hours on Aug. 23, 2022 and paid the $10 fee at the fee box which is located by the sign with camping instructions and rules. We had water and electric and a dump station is a short distance away. The sites are all grass fronting a large gravel parking lot and have nice tables. It was a quiet and safe park, part of the large city park with ball fields, pool, playgrounds, and picnic areas. It was a great choice and you can stay for 7 nights. No one else was camped here while we were there.
Great place. Up to 7 nights. Water and electric. Lots of stores in town.
