This is a very nice USFS campground on the east fork of the Hood River. Most of the sites are directly on the river. Our site, 16, had a great view up and down the river. No electricity, potable water, dump station, over the air television, or Verizon signal (even with a booster). We would definitely camp there again. 0.3 mile gravel road to access the campsites. Rate reflects senior discount.

We didn't realize this but this is a reservation required site. We went here thinking it was open parking. Luckily the park managers manage both this and Sherwood. They had a cancellation in Sherwood that morning so they had 1 spot. See my review over at Sherwood.

We traveled with a 25 ft RV (our first time!) and we had no pb parking it in our site. The site was big enough, we were not too close to other campers and all we could hear was the sound of the river. Our site was right next to the forest so we were able to go and explore. The campground is about 30 min from Timberline Lodge by car. It was an amazing experience and we hope to stay there again!

We love National Forest Campsites. This was awesome. It is impossible to find in the dark though as there was no signage when we came.

Great spot on the river, but away from the road. Couldn’t hear any traffic. Site 10 was a small walk behind the site to the river. Looked like site 8 had a river view. Pit toilet, no running water, no cell service. Sites were far enough away from one another for privacy and quiet. There was no on site host, but two people in a truck stopped by the ensure proper fees and offer $9 firewood.

June 7, 2023 Hardly anyone here in Late Spring. Half price for senior discount with pass.
We pulled in with no reservation.
First come first serve campground location in Mt Hood National Forest. Very typical Forest Service place. Fire pit, picnic table at each site. Pit toilets, and round old style trash cans so I'm assuming bears aren't in the area. I find that hard to believe as this is way out in the woods. But we didn't see or hear any bears.
Some sites are right on the Newton Creek but we chose site #2 , its farther away from the creek because it was flowing very loudly.
