Don't bother stopping here. The woman who runs it is a rude, crabby old woman. We were in the area from Oklahoma City on Saturday, June 15, about 3pm, and thought we would visit this museum. The sign said they closed at 4 p.m., but the door was locked, so we rang the doorbell. When no one answered, I called the number to see if someone was just on break. The elderly woman who answered snapped at me and said they close at 2pm. I told her that I thought the sign outside said 4pm. She said, "No, it's 2 p.m. and has been for years." So, as we left, I double checked the sign. Yep, it said 4 p.m. I called her back to let her know that the sign does still say 4 p.m. and suggested that they might want to update it because it's misleading, at which time she proceeded to raise her voice at me, attempted to insult me, and hung up on me. This is not how people should be treated. I'll never go back and I'll never give a red cent to this place. Very poor customer service skills and hours posted on the building are not accurate. If I could give this zero stars, I would. Save your money and go somewhere else.
Sweet little museum with a great history of the Orphan Train riders. The lady that works there currently has family that was on the orphan train, so she is very knowledgeable. There are also other historical buildings that are right near it that you can walk and visit.
