“the short hike reveals a hidden treasure”
Park at the locked gate at the trailhead. Go around the gate and walk up the road. Take the first road to your left (about half a mile from the trailhead). Follow this road and take the first road on your right. Hike about a quarter-mile to a road on your left. This road has large dirt berm across it along with a deep ditch, to keep wheeled vehicles from entering the area. Hike the small trail which leads around the berm and leads down the hill. When you reach the bottom of the hill you will see Eddings Creek and the top of Falling Rock Falls. Be VERY careful in this area as the rocks can be quite slippery and a fall from here could be fatal. If hiking with children, please keep them away from the edge of the falls. There are small trails on both sides of the falls that lead to the bottom of the falls. Once again, exercise extreme caution on these trails. There is a cavern behind the falls which is quite fun to explore.
Not too far of a trek. Passed an oil rig on the way to the falls which was cool. Most of the way was a gravel road. There are a lot of bugs so I suggest bug spray and a hat because there is a lot of sun. The water was cool and refreshing after the walk. 😊
Fun little hike. Extremely well marked. Great falls that you can enjoy from multiple spots, including behind the falls themselves.
Easy hike to the top of the falls but a steep hike down to the bottom which is where you want to go. Don’t bother going unless you can manage the steep trail at the end. That’s where the great views are—at the bottom. Bring lunch.
This is a really nice little hike with a great payoff at the finish but as mentioned several times in the reviews it CAN be confusing to find the place. Some providers do not have decent signal out there and online directions are iffy. Here is a link to a youtube video with current footage of the falls and exact step by step directions. It is well worth the hike. https://youtu.be/-9q2RUKDknM
Super disappointed. The directions seemed easy but once we got there they didn't make sense at all. We wandered around for 30 minutes trying to make sense of them until my friend's foot got attacked by ants. I was really looking forward to these falls but lack of trails and directions made it impossible.
