Now this rv park isn’t a “looker”, per se. There are some long term tenants, and some might say, run down motorhomes. However it has everything you need and is safe and accommodating. The owner, Ronnie is such a kind person and went out of his way to help me choose a site and get set up. He knew I was a solo female traveler, so he offered me his personal site beside his home to stay at. He set up my power cords, sewer hoses, water and even dumped my tanks for me. There is a fantastic restaurant called the crawfish hole down the road I was able to bike to and take my dog inside to eat with me. The locals are SO KIND! The food was amazing. If you camp here I recommend you request the “lower lot”, as it is more scenic and grassy. I didn’t check out the bath house or laundry, but it is there to use. The campground is beside a liquor store which is where you will check in. Very quiet at night, frogs and crickets chirping. Right on the water.

If you are looking for a simple overnight stay on your way down I20, stop in here. Ronnie greeted us as soon as we arrived unannounced since we were arriving just after sunset and had no reservations. He was so accommodating and made it very simple for us to do a pull through based n our tow behind. If you are staying for more than one night, ask for the lower deck on the pond with the great view!
