“the flavor of the Wild”
The Lander Bar is widely known throughout Wyoming and around the world as one of the few bars left that still offer a little bit of the flavor of the Wild, Wild West. Easily the busiest, most popular watering hole in town, the Lander Bar attracts a wealth of locals and tourists alike, and is the anchor around which the Coalter Block restaurant group was formed. Originally opened as a saloon back in 1908, the bar enjoyed a storied history – serving, among other things, as a hotel, brothel and boarding house – before returning to full-time service as a bar in 1993. In addition to offering popular brands of domestic and imported beers, the Lander Bar keeps a line of specialty microbrews on tap from the Lander Brewing Company, including local beers that have won national and international awards at the Great American Beer Festival, the World Beer Cup and other competitions.
