Welcome to our year-round home in the Wind River Mountains. In 1868 newspapers lured miners here with tales of fine gold. They come still; so do single malt Scotch whisky lovers who seek a different gold. In its day (1904 - 1961) the Carpenter Hotel didn't offer hot tubs, televisions, or Internet connections.
