“offering a unique hands-on atmosphere for children”
The Children’s Museum offers a unique hands-on atmosphere for children and their parents to interact and have fun while learning. Each month we offer a full list of programs. We host ArtSpace Workshops and special event guests throughout the year. The Children’s Museum is a 501 c3 non-profit organization with a 23-year history of promoting the Arts and Humanities in Southwest Louisiana. From its inception in 1988, the museum has consistently provided interpretive exhibits that encompass music, visual and performing arts, folk life, storytelling, and art education. The Children’s Museum is a member of the United Way family of organizations, as well as a recipient of support from the Children's Miracle Network, the Arts and Humanities of Southwest Louisiana, the Louisiana Division of the Arts, the SWLA Convention and Visitors Bureau, local individuals and corporations, and its many visitors from across the United States and around the world. The museum enjoys partnerships with the Junior League of Lake Charles, McNeese State University, the Lake Area Industry Alliance, the Newcomers Club of Lake Charles, Art Associates of Lake Charles and the Safety Council of Southwest Louisiana. Recently the museum entered a major partnership with the State of Louisiana, Calcasieu Parish, the City of Sulphur and the City of Lake Charles
