Free dump station located at the entrance to Acadiana Park Campground with free potable water.
Good, functional free dump station. Easy to find with coordinates given.
You'll have no problem making the turn in a class B or similar, but I had to make a 3-point turn (ditch on one side, drop-off on the other.) You can see where people went off the pavement to make the turn, but there is a drop off of that pavement, so be careful all inside contents are secured before you attempt it. Not bad, but it would give your insides a good whack if you don't see it. Otherwise, you'll need to go down the road into the campground; I didn't, so I don't know what kind of turn-arounds are down there. A city truck stopped while I was getting my hose done; I waved, but he didn't say anything or get out. He was probably just making sure I was okay.
I got four gallons of potable water (just a bit forward of the dump,) but I wouldn't fill my tank with it. There was no bad smell, but there was so much stuff floating in it that the water looked white. It's possible that I didn't run it long enough; the non-threaded hose was very long. There was also a trash can.
We love staying at this campground tucked away near the city!
There are well maintained boardwalks to stroll through the woods along with a nice disc golf set up.
The campground is quiet and clean!
The staff are very friendly and accommodating.
I would stay for extended time if we were staying in the area. It’s a pretty park with level pads and shady sites. We only stayed the one night on the way through, but it was quiet and relaxing. There was a gate to enter the camping area, so felt quite safe. $28 per night 01/2024
