Found by accident and necessity while heading south toTX. This SP is near Huchison, KS just as few miles off the highway. The C/G was newly remodeled and we may have been the first camping visitor on 2/28/16. Nobody was there except some horses in a campsite corral (there are many of these). Even the Ranger was missing this Sunday afternoon.
All the sites had concrete pads, new water and electric hookups and sewer connections. The pull-through sites even had a corral for your critter next to the large concrete pad.
We had our own private ranch although no horse. Maybe next time!

Beautiful, all new campground, with a paved road and concrete pads surrounding a pond. Spotlessly clean. Full hookups. Volunteer camp host. Some of the sites have horse corrals. This park was truly a delight to stay at. I was there the last week in October, and it was almost deserted. It's convenient for the Stataca Salt Mine tour (this was excellent) and the Cosmodrome, and not far from Wichita. The $27 nightly cost is made up of $10 camping fee, $12 hookup fee, and $5 daily access fee.

Close to must-see Cosmosphere and Salt Mines! Equestrian and hiking single track trails all over the park. Pull through and back in sites.

The address listed took me down a gravel road on E 69th, to a trail head. The correct campground road is a bit south, down a paved road, E 56th. Beautiful campground! But don’t take the gravel road! 🤣

Very nice campground adjacent to the state park, which has nice peaceful trails. The sites are large and clean. Restrooms have individual showers. Friendly host greeted us as we arrived to the camp. Very convenient to Hutchinson where there is ample shopping spots.
Train tracks nearby, but there were very few trains.

All the back in sites are level concrete with a patio, table, fire pit and grill. Nice and quiet, two great museums in Hutchinson: Stratica and the Cosmosphere. Good restaurants and breweries. Roads in and out are good. No trees, Starlink worked great.

This place appeared much nicer in the photos. I was hoping to fish in the pond, but there is little to no water. Also there is no playground for the kids. We walked some of the trails to try and find the "sand dunes", but everything was covered in grass so it's not what we thought. Overall I'm disappointed in this park:( The only reason I gave it two stars is because there was a concrete pad for us to park our rv on.
