“Two words: Space Camp!”

Home to Space Camp, and Aviation Challenge; The U.S. Space & Rocket Center is recognized as one of the most comprehensive U.S. manned space flight hardware museums in the world. Our facilities include Spacedome Theater, Rocket Park, the Education Training Center, which houses NASA's Educator Resource Center, and more. Visitors to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center will experience Huntsville's role in the making of the moon rocket, the space race, the Apollo missions, learn about the Space Shuttle program, the International Space Station and NASA's future missions. Visitors may trace the evolution of humankind's ventures into space and watch as tomorrow's potential engineers, scientists and astronauts train in one of the Space Camp or Aviation Challenge Programs. Exploration is like no other in the country. In its 476 foot long, 90 foot wide and 63 foot high structure, suspended 10 feet above the floor, is a national historic treasure, the mighty Saturn V, restored to its Apollo era readiness. The USSRC, NASA's first visitor center, opened in 1970 and has served over 12 million visitors to date. As the Official Visitor Information Center for the Marshall Space Flight Center, the USSRC is committed to educating the public and students who attend SPACE CAMP about the work being done at MSFC, particularly in the area of propulsion where MSFC has made significant contributions in the Apollo and shuttle programs and is again on the forefront with the Ares rockets. Featured in the cult classic Space Camp!

Kept two adults, two surly teenagers and an 8yo occupied for an entire day. Rode the simulators multiple times, staff was exceptional. Exhibits were awe inspiring. Bring a picnic lunch, and it's a very perfect road trip destination. By the end of the day every one was actually sorry to leave. We could have stayed another hour, easy. The teens are even begging to go back, and to attend space camps. Tip: stop at the state welcome center for coupons. Otherwise, consider becoming a member, and getting discounts at science museums all over the country.

So much fun. Stopped here on a whim and ended up spending 4 hours exploring everything. Loads of awesome photo ops so bring your camera. So cool getting to see the rockets up close and the exhibits are full of so much stuff it will keep you preoccupied for hours. Defiantly recommend coming here!

Ever thought, how come only the kids get to go to space camp? Well, Space Camp Huntsville in Alabama is calling folks of all ages! They have a space program where not only kids can find out what it’s like to train for a space mission, but parents can attend space camp also!

Exactly where is Space Camp? We visited NASA Space Camp in Huntsville Alabama as a family and had a blast (see what I did there).

These camps are offered and there are overnight accommodations for Friday and Saturday nights of camp! All meals are provided beginning with dinner Friday evening through breakfast Sunday morning. Camps are designed for children ages 7 through 18.

October 2020 was our 2nd time here. The first time around we just looked at all the cool stuff on the outside. There’s a lot to see.
The second time around, we paid full admission to go inside.
We were disappointed at all the things our grandkids couldn’t do because of COVID but still enjoyed the exhibits.
The gravity ride was a bonus 😃

I was not sure if this would hold my interest but boy was I wrong. Very interesting stuff. 2 buildings and a field of artifacts. 2nd building very hands on. Entrance fee not cheap but worth it. Lots of other movies and experiences that cost extra. Took us 4hrs to do but we really took our time and looked at everything.

The whole family had so much fun. We spent the entire day and we're still not ready to go. We had lunch in the diner, it was good food for a reasonable price.

Not as clean or kept up as Kennedy Space Center, but a nice learning experience for us and our homeschoolers.

I’ve always been absolutely obsessed with space. Ever since I was a kid. So I was ecstatic when my husband took me here for my birthday last year. It was seriously the coolest place I have ever been in my life. I even got over my crippling anxiety just enough to go on the rides outside! The full dome IMAX theater was amazing as well, i would return to the space center a thousand times over and never get sick of it. We completely plan on sending our daughter to space camp when she is old enough.

Fantastic array of space stuff. The staff did a fantastic job of getting me onto the Marshall bus Tour. The tour is not so good for kids but is interesting. The guide knew more than I thought possible. My husband saw the IMax which was terrific. An absolute must see in Huntsville.
