We were looking for somewhere that we could watch the sunset and our dog could play in the water. This campground has less than 40 sites and is very quiet. It’s a fisherman’s haven. We were lucky enough to snag a site right on the water. We spent our days across the street (you have to drive) at the beach and evenings watching the sunsets. Our site has full hookups. The bath house was very clean and the washers/dryers were free. There is plenty of open space to play with your puppies! At night it was so quiet you could hear the fish jumping!

We love this place for the water front sites, big shade trees and lots of fishing. The guests are respectful and friendly. There is free washer and dryers in a very clean laundry room. There is a kayak launch right down the road as well as a beautiful beach.

Fort Morgan RV Park doesn't have the splash-pads and pools of most beach-town parks in between the Alabama and Northwest Florida beaches. What it does have is a quiet, rustic feel with modern hookups. Upon arrival, after business hours, our instructions for our assigned site were clearly available. Getting into our site took some planning, including reversing our direction of travel, but after nestled into the site, water, sewer and electrical connections were within easy reach and professionally installed. The patio and picnic table were thoughtful touches for weekend-warriors, no need to setup up and then put away a table and rug.
In addition to a rule encouraging no arrivals after dark, I would encourage campers to arrive at least an hour BEFORE sunset, in order to take advantage of the views over the bay from either the waterfront sites or the pier.
This campground is 9 miles from the main north-south road in Gulf Shores - AL 59, if you are running a diesel, you are at least that far from fuel and full-line groceries. Shipt does deliver to this area, so you may have another reason to arrive early and not leave until checkout. There is a gas station about three miles from the campground with the usual quick-stop grocery selection.

NIce place. Rustic, quiet. They’ve been working on hurricane damage. The pier is not repaired yet. They’re waiting for the crew to arrive. After driving up towards Fort Morgan park, you can still see the damage. Impressive. Boat launches are closed. I’m sure some are open. But, couple we saw are under repair. Most homes have had some damage. Lots of debris is along roadside. They’ve got crews picking up trees and brush. But it’s going to take months. Gulf Shores is open. Many of the larger condos are now under repair. Most restaurants are open. Don’t hesitate to visit.

Great campground with old gulf coast vibe. Lots of live oak shade trees except the bay view spaces. The view is worth it.
WiFi hardly works. Even my mobile phone service is spotty. We were stuck indoors because it stormed most of the time. Cable TV worked well.
Close to very beautiful gulf beach and nice nature trails.
About 15 minutes to Gulf Shores. Not many restaurants and stores out this way.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! It’s not a big campground and they stay pretty full it seems like. We booked months in advance for a water front site...and it was worth every penny. There are about 7 water front sites and they don’t have much shade. We didn’t mind though. Other sites throughout the park are well shaded with trees. The bathhouse wasn’t too bad. Most people have all inclusive campers (we don’t) so the bath house never really gets crowded. The park is owned by an older couple who value the simple life and want their campers to enjoy their stay. Excellent customer service!
If you’re into fishing, book your site now! The campground has a brand new fishing pier that you can enjoy all day and night. We sure did! We’ll definitely come back!

Pros Great sunsets, free laundry, fishing pier and quite hosts are very friendly
Cons Nothing is around here there is a small beach 2 miles away but it’s nothing like Gulf Shores or Orange beach. If you want to walk on the beach, bike ride, walk or run this is not the place . Grocery stores and restaurants are 10 miles away. The sites are close together and feel line your on a gravel parking lot. Old trailers and boats are stored in the rear of the park. It’s very small

We booked this park ~6 months ago as a splurge purchase as we usually only stay in state parks. I am honestly very disappointed overall.
I have tried to call a number of times over the last few weeks to get information on the site along with asking about a friend who wanted to stay overnight as they were coming through town as well. I never got an answer on the phone regardless of leaving many messages.
When you get here, there is a sign that says since Covid they are no longer having an open office so you have to call the number. Yes, the same number I have been trying to call for weeks. We got here yesterday, called 4-5 times and still no answer or no call back.
We have been here for a bit over 24 hours and no one has said anything to us nor have we seen anyone who looks like they work here. Not exactly good hospitality.
We booked the sites along the water so we would have great views and be able to walk on the beach. Well, there is no beach though the pictures of the site sure make it look like there is. My fault for not using Google maps to check out the area as well.
I have been to some small packed in sites before, but these take it to a whole new level. My parking spot is right in front of my table and that is about as big of an area as you get. We are luck to only have someone on one side of us right now… it will be much worse once someone is on both sides.
Our friend decided to get a spot in Gulf Shores State Park about 15 mins down the road and it is way way nicer than this overall. Oh yeah, and about 1/4 of the cost. For what we paid for the week here, we could have stayed for a month over there. It wouldn’t be a “waterfront” site but I would take my money back and move over there in an instant.
I would not recommend this place at all.
