Boardshack Knoll Dispersed Camping

The sites along this road have beautiful views of Sunrise Mountain and White Mountain Reservoir.

The sites are large and level, mostly at the edge of the trees. The road is well maintained.

The hillside exposure could be an issue on windy days.

The cellular coverage in the area varied between 1 and 4 bars for Verizon and AT&T.

The place was described in another review as peaceful but seems like these days are gone and it had been "discovered". When I came on Sunday afternoon it was near full and packed, there might have been one site available with difficult access and unclear turnaround prospects but it was close to some big RV and I didnt want to hear any generators. Took me long time to drive to where I could turn around with a trailer. The lake is dry and was a pasture with bunch of cows on it, the views are about the same as in any other part of this region, field and forest edge. Drove to another, supposedly busier location and found a great campsite quickly.
