Garden City RV Park

We reserved a site via phone at the last minute while traveling through Kansas. We spent time earlier hiking at Little Jerusalem Badlands State Park north of Garden City and were looking for a place to sleep before heading out to Colorado the next day. The person on the phone was friendly and helpful when taking the reservation. The campground still had a few sites available on a Saturday evening in mid-May. The campground is conveniently located next to the highway and a truck stop, yet we slept well and didn't notice noise.

This RV park is a grass lot behind a truck stop near the highway. Most of the RV’s there are permanent living space. No shade, no trees, just a lot. You do have full hook up which is nice and the Wi-Fi is decent. Making reservations was easy on line. It was relatively quiet being that you did hear some trucks early morning but it wasn’t bad. Not a place to stay long term if you want scenery.

If you are site-seeing and expect every stop to be beautiful and perfect. Keep moving.

If you are looking for a well lit place with a no-nonsense and easy to access layout, full hookups, level concrete slabs, good electrical, and sewer connections that are flush with the ground: look no further. This place is very well designed.

I periodically stop here to visit my son for a week and it is great.

Couple of downsides that I live with: the internet connectivity has never been good (please please fix this) It is close to a feed lot so there are a lot of flies in the area.

If you enjoy the fragrance of a cattle yard across the highway, mosquitoes so thick my doggos cried when outside, and a unhelpful staff then this is your place. Didn’t even have coffee in the morning. Just got out.

This campground was good, nothing to do and right off the highway but level and clean. It was easy to get in and out of, great place if you’re just looking to camp one night.
