Fairhope Museum Of History is in a Spanish Mission Revival structure build as Fairhope’s first municipal building that has been returned it to appear as it did in 1928, with the mayor’s office, town council room (class room can be used by the public during museum hours) original jail and fire department featuring the Eastern Shore’s first, original 1935 fire truck. The back of the museum has displays on Fairhope’s colorful history including Clay City, People’s Railroad car, the Single Tax Colony (the No. 1 question), wharf house, Alabama City, Creole families, Indians, businesses and many, many pictures.
