“see the breathtaking product of complete devotion”
Fairhope City Rose Garden is a park on the bay that features a lovely fountain and an All-America Rose Selections rose garden. It is also designed for both strolling and fishing, with benches, covered areas, restrooms, a marina and a restaurant. The rose garden, located near the Fairhope Pier, was started with a $3,000 donation, followed by another $2,000 donation. The water fountain, which is located in the rose garden, was built by city employees. The grass in the rose garden is mowed and bagged every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The grass is over seeded during the winter and mowed once a week. The rose garden requires more labor than all other beautification projects in Fairhope. The roses garden is sprayed once a week with a fungicide and insecticide. Each week all roses are cut and beds cleaned of weeds. Presently, there are over 1,000 bushes and 41 varieties of roses planted in the rose garden.
