“part music store, part Cajun accordion workshop”
Part music store, part Cajun accordion workshop, proprietor Marc Savoy's factory turns out about five specialty accordions a month for people around the world. On Saturday morning, accordion players and other instrumentalists head here for jam sessions, and musicians from all over the area drop in. Savoy Music Center hosts an acoustic jam session every Saturday morning, beginning at 9 in the A.M., and jamming until noon. All are invited to join in, no permission or approval is needed, but we ask only one thing... Please, no more than ONE triangle player at a time. If you're wondering how to find the music center, just look for thirty cars lined up Hwy. 190 between Eunice and Lawtell. We are open for business, and admission is free, but a small box of boudin or cracklins would make you the most popular guy in there for about 2-3 minutes.
this is the real deal cajun experience. no other way to describe. Saturday mornings is a cajun jam, bring some boudin to share or donuts. experience music played by masters as well as visitors.... Read more
Amazingly inexpensive. I was surprised to find them to be cheaper than even Musician's Friend. Apparently Marc Savoy enjoys music more than he's interested in making money off of it. Read more
