As a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist, editor of The Emporia Gazette and and political adviser, William Allen White hosted well-known political and literary figures of the day, including Theodore Roosevelt, among the five U.S. presidents to visit Red Rocks. William Allen's son, William Lindsay White, was a well-known radio broadcaster in the 1940s and later an editor of the Gazette. Through world travels they connected with famous people like H. G. Nice house we went around Halloween and they told some story about a dog seen in the window but no dogs live there any more
