We only spent one night but it was very nice. Suggest going to the west end of Holly Beach at the intersection of Porpoise and Egret and pull out onto the beach there. There is a larger hard pack area so you won’t get stuck. The other entrances to the beach were immediately loose sand, not workable for a fifth wheel. You could possibly park in the entrance area, as long as you didn’t block it, where the sand was hardpacked there. It was very quiet, albeit, we were here off season. Enjoyed picking up shells. Just a natural beach, not white sand, but very pleasant for a short stay.

We drove here for a stopover between Padre Island, TX and Gulf Shores, MS. We arrived at night to find the given GPS coordinates entrance (also the previous reviewers suggested entrance) a long, wide, deep pit of tire dug out mud and water. Afraid to either bottom out or get stuck in our 4x4 30’ fifth wheel, we made the decision to drive on and ended up camping at the Cracker Barrel in Sulphur, LA listening to the trains’ horns all night instead of crashing waves.
I’d be willing to check it out again during the day when I had plenty of time and light to find another entrance or better alternative.
Poor cell signal.

We stopped here on our way to Florida. Pulled our 38 foot fifth wheel onto the beach and spent the night. Woke up to the most beautiful views! We were the only campers on the beach. The weather was in the 60s and sunny! We will be back when we can spend longer!

Originally planned to stay two nights but had to leave after one. It’s Memorial Day weekend so it was fairly crowded but found a decent camping spot. I did have to drive around a bit till I found my spot. I drive a car so my travel over sand was limited. Plenty of people with trucks failed to adhere to the loose sand signs. Everyone was quite nice though there were some who couldn’t pass up a chance to say “hello” at night time while riding their atv’s once the sun went down. Mosquitos weren’t near as bad as I’d thought they would be. The porter potty was in a fair decent shape. The water was quite cold to offset the 90 degrees. Found some fantastic oyster shells! Some trash which I picked up. As always “leave it like you found it” or better. The drive down from 10 is quite pleasant and I suggest stopping to walk the Creole Nature Trail. Bathe in Off.... or the buckflies will make sure you never make it back to your car. Will return again.

At first I thought I wouldn't be able to stay because I didn't see any way to drive onto the beach. The sand is too loose and the main area for parking is lower than the beach. It was flooded and muddy. There are access roads every block, though they are short and not very wide. I eventually found an area I could be out of the way enough and the ground was still firm. I'm glad I did as it was a peaceful stay. Only a few others on the beach each day and the weather has been great. I only had one evening with mosquito problems, but boy were they dense. Gave me the creeps to see so many butting against the windows. Must have been the constant breezes that kept them away most of the time. Otherwise, my only gripe is that there are no trash cans. Have to hang on to it all and take somewhere when you leave. However, the beach is not full of trash like I've seen where there are trash cans.
One note, if you are looking for activities or close food and entertainment, this is not the place for you. There is the Creole nature trail if you have a car, otherwise it is only the beach and the solitude.

The price is right for staying for a night or two...FREE! The beach was fairly deserted in Dec. but there was usually at least two of us camping each night we stayed. The only packed sand is right off the road...the rest is very loose and we saw more than one car get stuck. We also did not have any cell signal on AT&T or Sprint networks. If you walked up into the community you could get about 2 bars from Sprint.

Stayed here one Sunday night in late December. I was the only one here except some carloads of folks who stopped be in the afternoon. Very quiet and a billion stars all night. Loose sand kept me very close to the end of Tarpon Ave. Twi bars of ATT 4G. As long as you don’t get stuck in the sand it’s a great place to overnight, and stick around for the day.

You have to be careful because of the loose sand- it almost got us but because we read the reviews we were on the lookout- we camped at the entrance on the hard packed sand and fell asleep and woke up to the waves… We walked the beach in the morning but you definitely need bug spray for the mosquitoes.
