The Wild Azalea Trail has been designated by the Chief of the Forest Service as a National Recreation Trail because of its outstanding scenic values. The trail was created in response to community interests. Directions: The Wild Azalea Trail is located in the Evangeline Unit of the Calcasieu Ranger District, west southwest of Alexandria, Louisiana. End points are located at the Valentine Lake Recreation Area and at the town of Woodworth's Town Hall parking area. Camping is permitted adjacent to the trail, but campsites must be established at least 30 feet away from the trail center line.
Beautiful lake. Well marked trails and clean. Nice stop in the middle of Louisiana.
