“Beautiful Forests and Fishing Lake”
Piney forests, rolling hills, five fishing piers, and a beautiful lake draw visitors to this quiet, majestic state park. Designed to keep the focus on nature, park facilities blend with the natural landscape to enhance the outdoor experience of this 655-acre park. Fishing piers and boat docks attract visitors to Lake D'Arbonne, the marvelous 15,250-acre centerpiece of the park. Recreation on Lake D'Arbonne is tremendously popular among locals and visitors, and record freshwater catches of bass, crappie, catfish and bream make Lake D'Arbonne a fishing haven. Wide open areas of the lake, about seven miles from the park, appeal to water skiers and pleasure boaters. The boat launch at the park opens up all of these opportunities to outdoorsmen. Tree stands in the lake captivate photographers, as do the towering pines on land and the rich diversity of wildlife and birds that make the park their home. Bring your binoculars and camera to capture the wonders of the natural world from our beautiful nature trails. Cyclists will enjoy the challenge of the rolling hills of the park as a starting point for biking excursions into the steep inclines and scenic beauty of North Louisiana. Lighted tennis courts add to the activity options available for all visitors. Return for a picnic under the canopy of pine trees and celebrate the magnificence of nature preserved.

You pay a $6 reservation fee whether you just drive in and get a spot or make reservations online and no person involved. Lots of hiking/mountain biking trails, swimming pool, tennis courts, disc golf, fishing. Very large state parks. It also has cabins and lodged and a group camp dormitory. This is very much a resort park. It’s huge! Our family loves this park and look forward to a return visit.

Stayed here 2 nights during Labor Day weekend while traveling from Texas to Georgia. Little out of the way from I-20. Swimming pools and tennis courts within the park. Sites were little closer and tall pine trees doesn’t provide much privacy. Restroom was very clean.
Tip: there is a free laundry facility near the restroom. Code is in the back of your campground permit sheet.

Very nice state park. Lots of pine trees and shade. Little tight for larger trailers, we have a 32’ 5th wheel and made it in no problem. Any bigger some sites would be tight to back into. 4 stars as it seems a little pricey, $42 with tax, per night for water and electric.

In the past two years I’ve stayed in 6 Louisiana State Parks and have been very impressed. D’Arbonne lived up to my expectations. Large, level sites in a piney forest. Lake D’Arbonne State Park is a 600+ acre park with plenty of recreational opportunities. A good trail system connects in the campground. Road biking good through park and county road. Bathhouses are modern and very clean with hot water and good pressure. The laundry is clean, large and accessed with coins or phone app. Verizon is good and there’s free WiFi from sites. OTA tv is limited with NBC and PBS. All sites are FHU at reasonable price AND non resident seniors receive a 50% discount! As I travel cross country I will seek out Louisiana State Parks.
