“Homemade Root Beer!”

Iconically perched up on a pole. A good 3-D sign, with frothy root beer foam spilling from the rim. Come on in! Homemade root beer served in a Frosted Mug. Burgers, Shakes, Malts and Icecream. Chilli Dog and Seafood Platters and Poboys

This restaurant isn't much to look at. The seats are tore, the bathrooms are a bit undesirable. BUT, the food was delicious. The whole lot a burger was great. And the French fries were devine. Chocolate shakes and root beer floats to boot rounded off our meal nicely. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a nice alternative to our traditional fast food today.

Root Beer floats are AMAZING!!! Food is also good, old school diner atmosphere but very rundown. Does not look like pictures that are posted. About $35 for 4 people.

The rootbeer floats are literally the best on plant earth, good prices, friendly staff, a true american eatery (but for real, the rootbeer floats were worth the drive from New York and free refills!)

Manager sam cussed us out. We trusted this app and never ate a bite after we left houston. We were excited about this place and we came in and the guy taking our order was a little rude. Asked for manager and he cussed my husband out in front of a little kid and told him to take his glasses off. Then he sped off in his truck

If for nothing else, just come for the novelty! It’s an adorable 50’s style diner (a little run-down looking, but to me thats the charm and character) which is perfect for grabbing a bite to eat and resting before hitting the road again. When I was here (Sept 2020) you had to wear a mask while you were in line and ordering, but you could take the mask off once you were at your table. The staff is great, and the atmosphere is super laid back. The food is your typical American greasy food, but it’s hot, fresh and tasty; not fine dining by any stretch, but certainly better and more satisfying than fast food. You definitely have to try the root beer while you’re here. Different than any name brand soda- guaranteed. Plus, free refills! Enjoy!

Loved it! We walked 2 blocks from the USS Kidd. The restaurant might look a little run down but don’t let that scare you! The people were friendly and the food was great!!

The root beer was good and the staff was pleasant, but the positives end there. We should have kept driving after we saw the exterior. The place looked like it was falling apart. The inside was not any better. This is hole-in-the-wall bad not hole-in-the-wall enduring. Seats cushions were all cracked and nasty. Air conditioning vents were all dusty. Bathrooms were...um...unbearable/unusable. The shrimp po boy was nothing special and definitely not good enough to make up for the dining environment.
