Confirmed by 4 users | Last reported on February 20, 2024We really enjoy camping at Chewacla State Park. It is quiet and set apart, although you are located only 10 minutes from a Walmart and grocery store. The sites are relatively level and most are situated in the wooded areas for privacy and atmosphere. We have stayed at Sites 11, 12 & 13, which are all back-in sites. They do have several pull-through sites available, as well. Included in the price is basic cable and they all have full-hookup, except the Primitive sites.

Very nice State Park. Only stopped for one night. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our full hook-up site was level and shady. Did see some poison ivy nearby. Bathhouse was clean. Hiked the moderate trail to the falls. There are numerous hiking and biking trails at all experience levels. Would have liked to stay longer. Maybe next time.

A compact campground, I’d give it a love if I had trail bikes & or went to Auburn football. I like it because of the trees, quiet, close to a college town. Rv sites close together. Good for a night or two if you on the way some where.

Stayed one night end of February 2021. Comfortable, mostly clean, fairly quiet. Surprised there were NO BUGS (yay!). The lake was really nice, several groups enjoying the nice weather and water. Lots of mountain biking with ramps, etc. Only the gatekeeper was wearing a mask during this time of COVID. Everyone was friendly. 5G varying from three to five bars on T-Mobile. We have our own hotspot, so we didn’t use the WiFi.

We really liked this park.
Lots of trails for walking and mountain biking.
The water fall is beautiful!
They have clean restrooms and a well maintained campsite.
Full hook ups and very level white gravel campsites with picnic tables, fire pits and grills.
Swings and balls for children to play on too.
We will visit this park again when we have more time.

Great site. Clean restrooms. Great wifi for work, 10 mbps down/4up. LTE was 30+ down/2 up
I have hiked a little here on previous trips. The waterfall is a nice diversion.
Close to Auburn University, restaurants, gas, etc.
Quiet except for a 20-minute performance from a car at the gate with the volume all the way up about 830 PM

Stayed for 2 nights but didn't get to enjoy the hiking/mountain biking trails. For a somewhat urban park it is quiet especially if it is not a weekend. I stayed after the official football season but I still had to stay for 2 nights (weekend). I am not sure if I love the weekends because on a Sunday when I arrived it was a bit hectic but Monday was much better. I will be back so that i can mountain bike or hike the trails which seem great. Also cheaper if you stay the week or the month. This is my first Alabama SP but they offer monthly rates which some campers were utilizing.

A very nice park with an amazing network of mountain bike trails and hiking trails. Nice lake during summer months. Sites are close together, but far enough for a little privacy. The bathrooms are very clean, and the showers are warm. Has Wi-Fi at the sites. Full hookups in one loop, and partial hookups in the first loop. Laundry on site as well.

Friendly staff- camp host is active around camp.
Very quiet camp.
Two loops at camp- 1-16 (first loop) has a bath house and dumpster, 17-36 (second loop) has bathhouse with laundry and no dumpster - does have some small trash bins.
Site 34- Wifi 11.5 down, 8.84 up
Verizon 96.6 down 6.27
ATT 17.4 down 5.17 up
Everything here is super outdated. Playground equipment is falling apart and looks unsafe. Facilities are very old- has a washer dryer but are so old the dryer had to be run twice on high heat (but only a dollar each time). Buildings all around the park are falling apart and just creepy. But all the trails are amazing and well kept- clearly that’s where all the money goes. They have an awesome trail map- weirdly they don’t list any distances on them though. Lots of areas to wander in.
