Bar W is nestled in the rolling hills of a family ranch. There are cows around the camp ground to help with the peaceful setting. Sites are spread out and not all lined up to make you feel like nobody is around. The owner is genuine, he roams the area as he takes care of the campground and his cows. He is great to talk with as he has been on this land his whole life. The internet is the only issue, slow.

I called from the interstate and rolled up with 20 minutes lead time. Mike had great site ready for me and my little girls and we were delighted to find miniature golf, a funny little shack referred to as the “jail” with some rockers out front, and a beautiful landscape with cows and very social dogs. The location is awesome especially if you are visiting AU. Mike has a great sense of humor and a very interesting background. Highly recommend a stop here!

So the drive off the highway to the campground seemed a bit like that movie Wrong Turn but is still very pretty. Finding it is not hard but keep you eyes open for the sign to turn in. It is partially covered with underbrush. The owner is super friendly and helpful and the campsites are kitschy and spread out. Also, make sure you call in as my email was never responded to. There is a small putt putt course that was fun for the 12 yr old and I. The campground seemed messy( not dirty, more disorganized) but really pretty. We had the campsite right by the putt putt which was great for the one night we stayed. That may have been annoying if we weren’t here during COVID and people were staying out later. The owner only takes cash which is kind of annoying but I get it as my family is full of small business owners as well. As stated before the WiFi is not great and there is no cable but since we were not staying long it wasn’t really an issue for us. Overall, it is a great place to stay overnight or a couple days for sure.

Mike welcomed us for a wonderful one night experience. This quaint farm yard site is quiet, fully equipped and welcoming. Mike gave us a warm welcome and informed us of the local lore. He has established a comfortable RV park in his farm yard. There are full hook ups and level sites. Campers should get to know him, he obviously enjoys your business. WiFi worked well.

Found this RV park while evacuating From Hurricane Ida in August of 2021. The owner, Mike, was most accommodating. He let me stay for as long as I wanted and even helped me get into my popup camper when I had forgotten the keys at home in the rush to evacuate. The spot I got had full hookups with no issues. We have seen deer feeding on the grounds everyday so far.
Mike only deals in cash or checks so don’t forget to bring some.

This is not your usual RV park and we appreciated it! We had all the hook ups so it is convenient. The site has a little patio and we did not feel jammed in with our neighbors. Michael was there to greet us and take us to our site. We met his Dad, Mike, too. We felt welcomed. It's neat to be on a working farm.
