Great place close to all attractions. Chad was gracious and very helpful. He answered his phone after hour's. Met us at the camp, escorted to our spacious pull through. Payment was made without going to the office.

The bathhouse is modern and clean, as is the entire park. We really enjoyed the quiet.

Thanks to Chad and his staff for the nice experience. If our plans for the trip had aloud us, we'd have stayed longer. We will be back.

Nice facility and even nicer people who run it. Kudos to Camden. He went over and above to make our stay a happy one. Thank you!

11/17-18/2020. We picked this location because of the reviews. It had mature trees, grass area & level gravel pad, nice showers & swing. It had full hook ups but we are winterized coming from Minnesota so only used electricity, restrooms & showers. Next RV will definitely have the “Arctic Package” on it. TV & WiFi connections were both good. Clean & well maintained older campground with many who appeared to belong term residents. Very peaceful except for the humming of trains a block away.

We toured the Greyhound Hall Of Fame where we were greeted by Greyhounds. We also walked the grounds of the Dwight D Eisenhower Complex as it was closed because of the China Virus/Covid 19. Both of these were a couple blocks away. We also stopped at the Russel Stover’s Candies Factory Gift Shop.

This is a Good Sam member park. Very clean bathrooms with privacy doors. If you want satellite, park in spots away from trees. Very nice owner. Near Eisenhower’s boyhood home, Seelye Mansion, Lebold Mansion, and old town Abilene. Level gravel sites large enough to allow our 60 feet in a pull through site with full hook ups. Reasonably priced at $35 compared to KOAs at $60.

When you approach the campground from the north (from I-70), you will pass the campground exit first, then the next right will be the entrance. Pull in and take the first right and the office will be at the end of a walkway on the right.

Currently the campground is divided in three sections. The front set of sites are a mix of back-ins and pull-throughs, with most of the back-ins occupied by long-term residents. These sites are shaded and are the closest to the office and the building containing the bathrooms (with shower stalls) and the laundry room. There is also a small swing set, a horseshoe pit and a small dog-walking area. The section behind the front section is a row of long pull-throughs for short-term stays with no shade but a little more spacing between the sites. The third section is another set of pull-throughs occupied by long-term residents. Between the second and third sections is a field of grass with a covered pavilion and another dog-walking area. It looks like they’re in the process of adding another section of sites near the front.

The roads and the sites are packed gravel. Our site (58) was the end site in the second section, giving us a nice view of the farmland behind the campground. The site has a small decline in the front but was level in the middle. All the sites have decent space in-between them, more than what you typically find in a small private campground.

The office does not give out campground maps or a list of rules, so technically there’s no rule against having dogs off-leash. Fortunately most of the campers did walk their dogs on leash.

In terms of cell service, the best speeds I got on my Verizon Jetpack with MIMO antenna during our stay were 80Mbps down and 20Mbps up, and we had no issues streaming video. The one speed test I performed on my AT&T phone showed 57Mbps down and 13Mbps up. I tried out the campground WiFi the Friday evening before we left and saw 20Mbps down and 3Mbps up, which is decent.

The campground is within walking distance to several attractions: the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library (which is next to his boyhood home), the Greyhound Hall of Fame, and the Heritage Center, which contains a museum and a carousel built in 1901 that is still operational.

We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

A little gem in the heart of Kansas. We found a great site with lots of shade, full h/u and actual USABLE wi-fi! Very reasonable cost. The bathrooms are reasonably clean and the plce seems to be well maintained. There are big rig sites towards the rear, but the sites in front have more trees.there seem to be a few full timers here, but it is very quiet. Close to town and all the attractions - nothing is more than 10 minutes away. All sites are gravel and we had a real downpour overnight, so we got a lot of mud splatter - out only very minor issue.

We decided to stay over to check out the Eisenhower museum and home, but found lots of other interesting things in Abilene. Don’t miss the Seeleye Mansion or the RHV Do It Best hardware store in downtown. Also Joe Snuffy’s is a fantastic little place for breakfast or lunch.

We were lucky to have a nicely shaded site in the long term section. However, most larger units will be in the open pull-thru sites. Access was ok and hookups were adequate. Internet was just adequate but the park only had a few customers. There is cable tv. Did not use the bath house, laundy, or pool. Verizon was ok LTE.

Decent overnight stay. There is a diner within walking distance. Town area also close by. Pool is clean. Quiet location. Fair price.

One of those pleasant surprises. Campsites were manicured with gravel and neatly mowed grass. There are both treed sites and open sites. We were in the open on the southwest corner of the campground with great views of the soybean fields and the most amazing sunset. The town, home of President Eisenhower, a real Midwest beauty. We biked all through the town taking time to visit the Eisenhower Home and Museum. Both a must see.
