We went on an RV trip from October 6-November 2, 2022, starting in Dallas, Texas. We drove 292 miles to The Hotel Hot Springs in Hot Springs, Arkansas. On October 7-8, we met up with Angela and Jon in the city. On October 9, we visited Catherine's Landing, Lake Catherine State Park, and Hot Springs National Park, where we hiked on the trails. On October 10, we stayed at Petit Jean State Park for 3 nights and visited Camp Mitchell Episcopal Confer and Ozark-St. Francis National Forest.
On October 12, we stopped over at Lake Alma Hiking Trail and Arkansas Air and Military Museum where we were approved for a Harvest Host. On October 14, we stopped over in Fayetteville, Arkansas and stayed in an Air B&B with Sherron and Robin Roberts. On October 15, we stopped over at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas.
We visited Dogwood Canyon Nature Park in Lampe, Missouri and Redman Creek Recreation Area in Wappapello, Missouri. On October 18-19 we reserved spot #094 at Redman Creek Recreation Area. We also made a stopover at Wickliffe Mounds in Kentucky and Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky.
On October 21, we met up with Rachel and Nick for the wedding of Rachel’s brother. We stayed at Two Rivers Campground in Nashville, Tennessee and attended the wedding at the Hyatt Place Nashville Downtown. After the wedding, we visited the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center in Townsend, Tennessee and stayed in the Smokemont Campground in North Carolina for 5 nights. Next we went for a hike to the waterfall at Smokemont Campground and took a horse ride from the Riding Stables in Cherokee, North Carolina. We visited Fort Mountain State Park in Chatsworth, Georgia. We ended the trip in Huntsville, Alabama and stayed overnight at Cracker Barrel. The total distance of this trip was 2,565 miles.
