If you only get one meal in Seattle, make it at Skillet Diner. Open for every meal (and you'll probably come back more than once) you can get pork belly on waffles, chilaquiles, grilled cheese sammies, and tons more. Try the: Bacon jam on a burger. Notable for: Classic techniques create an innovative lunch out of a vintage Airstream.
Notable for: Seattle Magazine voted it the “Best Place to Cure a Hangover”
Check into the Ace Hotel for a taste of the local flavor. It's the original Ace Hotel in this chic chain. A historic building with lofted ceilings and original hardwood floors, the decor is spot on...and they serve local favorite Stumptown coffee in the mornings.
If your idea of a hostel is a grungy and out-of-date dorm-room type setup, then let the Green Tortoise prove you wrong! A former historic hotel, this hostel has been remodeled to keep its guests comfortable with modern amenities (can you say semi-private Mediterranean tile bathrooms?)
Spooked in Seattle is a ghost tour unlike most others. For one, your tour guides are actual paranormal investigators (AKA real-life ghost hunters). It’s also the longest-running paranormal ghost tour in the entire Pacific Northwest. They offer haunted pub crawls, Murder Mystery tours, and traditional ghost walks through Seattle’s haunted history.
Before finishing up your Pacific Coast road trip in Seattle, make a detour to Vashon, and see the Bicycle Swallowed by a Tree. This is the kind of thing that you have to see to believe... but it's totally real. There are tons of stories as to how this little red bike wound up in the tree, but either way, stop and take some pictures.
