“Seattle's most unusual attraction”
The Seattle Underground is a network of underground passageways and basements in downtown Pioneer Square, Seattle, Washington, United States that were at ground level when the city was built in the mid-19th century. After the streets were elevated, these spaces fell into disuse, but have become a tourist attraction in recent decades. There are a few operators who run guided tours.

This is super fun. The guides are young and hilarious. They put a spin on what could be boring. You do a bit of walking so no heels and something with a sole would be good.
You start above ground and end underground winding through the gift shop. You see a whole different side the city. It's been kept pretty much the way they found it but made is safe.
If you have never been, then it's a must do.
Very cool, very creepy, and for any big history dork this is one of the coolest tours to take in Seattle. If you're a bit claustrophobic, or not a fan of dark places I'd recommend sitting this one out. Go visit the Pike Place Market instead!
This is a really fantastic tour, especially for someone visiting out of town. I actually lived in Seattle for close to three years and it wasn't until my third year that I found out that there's a whole abandoned city underneath Seattle. It's pretty wild to go underground and see all of the original sections of Pioneer Square. Everyone gets a tour keepsake as well, which is a nice addition. Depending on how easily bored your kid is, the tour could go either way. Recommended for history buffs, for sure.
Our tour guide Carly was awesome! Very informative on the history of the city without being boring. Lots of cool facts and time to take pictures. Loved the stories about Madame Lou ;)
The tour is a lot of fun and you learn a lot of interesting things about Seattle that you wouldn't have normally known. The tour I believe when I took it 10 years ago used to be longer and you didn't end up in a gift shop, but the shop is very cute. My 7 year old son loved it! However, my 6 year old girl was totally creeped out but I think that was more of the closed in spaces and the large group (about 15 people). If you come to Seattle, if there is one thing that you do... This would be highly recommended that you don't miss.
Super fun tour! Definitely worth doing if in Seattle!
AWESOME tour. I didn't even realize that present-day Seattle was built over top of old-Seattle. Very neat to get a chance to go down into the tunnels and explore the parts of the city that everyone else forgot.
Definitely worth the admission, and you get a free keepsake at the end!
The tour gives a lot of history and exploring under the city is pretty cool. I'd definitely recommend it.
A pretty fun and unique activity to do while in Seattle. The tour isn't too much walking and gives you a good idea of the evolution of Seattle and how the landscape has changed over the years.
A great tour! Excellent location, funny host, perfect amount of time. My 5 year old was with us & it was great!
