Our First National Park! $25.00 Fee. It'll be about 7:00 pm when we arrive, but I am hoping we get there before sunset. Totally upset that the two campgrounds near by are closed in October through Winter. Although I read a review that said September the temps were 30 degrees. So I had to book at the Crater Lake Lodge.
I booked a room with Crater Lake View to watch the sunset if we get here on time. I also want to wake up and leave early to capture the sunrise at Crater Lake. Confirmation Number: 83T4PY - Itinerary Number: 80003U3JS
Let's try to wake up early as possible so like leave Lodge at about 5:00 am, depending when the sun is suppose to rise. This is a lookout to capture the sunrise. It's going to be wonderful!
Also today at 11:00 am we are getting a call from Nick and Danee regarding photography stuff.
One of the highest waterfalls in Oregon, Watson Falls plunges 272 feet to its moss-covered base, and is an easy 0.8 mile hike round-trip with a 300 foot elevation gain. This is our first waterfall of the day and Highway 138 is mostly Umpqua National Forest. So, we can take our time and do some hikes today!
0.4 mile easy hike to the platform to see the falls. Toketee Falls is one of the most famous waterfalls in all of Oregon, renowned far and wide for the graceful columnar basalt formation framing the two-stepped falls. The North Umpqua River has carved a sinuous gorge out of the lava flow, resulting in a waterfall of 113 feet in height - a 28 foot upper tier which plunges into a pool flanked by a deep alcove, followed by an 85 foot plunge into a large pool.
Umpqua Hot Spring is a great place for a soak among the wooded wilds that are part of Oregon's fame. An all natural hot springs overlooking the Umpqua River. $5 Per Vehicle to Park. Possible nudity. Gorgeous views! Check the USDA to make sure open during season.
Over 22 Waterfalls in the Umpqua National Forest. This whole area is very green and pretty. We can hike anywhere in this area. We MUST leave this area by 1:00pm the latest, if we want to make it to the car museum.
If we have time we can check this out.
Sunday Hours 10:00 am - 5:00 pm General Admission $10.00
This is one of the big car museums, so let's try to make sure we get there before it closes.
