Caraș-Severin County, CS, RO

Bigar WaterFall

This amazing-looking moss-covered, natural wonder is the Bigar Falls in Aninei Mountain, in the beautiful Caras-Severin county, Romania. Its water starts from a spring about 200 meters from the waterfall, slowly cascading through the moss and rocks, which creates its watery veil-like appearance. It was named as one of the world's most unique waterfall by "The World Geography" in 2013, and it's hard to disagree!

Piazza del Duomo, 25, IT

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II

Now that's a dome!! This vintage-looking building might look like some sort of museum, but it's apparently the world's oldest shopping mall! The Galleria Vittorio Immanuelle II was built in the 1860's in Milan, and named after the first Italian king. It's also home to the world's only "certified" 7-star hotel, the Hotel Seven Stars Galleria! Bellisimo!!

Blvd. Kukulcan, Zona Hotelera,, ROO, MX

Museo Subacuático de Arte (MUSA)

Indiana Jones, eat your heart out! While most museums are holed up in buildings, the Musa Museo Subacuatico de Arte around the waters of Cancun, Isla Mujeres and Punta Nizuc Mexico, dared to be different. By setting up shop 8 meters under the water, with over 500 sculptures, it's one of the largest artificial art installations in the world. Who's ready for a dive?

Mount Nimbus Skywalking

This looks like a scene from Cliffhanger...if you're old enough to remember that movie! This crazy mind-numbing knee-trembling suspension bridge is perched in between two peaks about 600 meters above the valley floor, and is part of the "via ferrata" found on Mt. Nimbus in Canada. It's the longest via ferrata in North America and probably one of the coolest-looking ones as well. Reaching it requires a helicopter ride to the Bobbie Burns Summer Lodge and hiking up from there, you don't even need any mountaineering experience. Just bring your guts and a wad of cash with you as it's fairly expensive to get to! Now what is a via ferrata? It means "iron road" in Italian, and usually refers to climbing routes with steel ropes for climbers to latch on to. Awesome huh?

Geisel Library

This alien space ship-looking building is the Geisel Library, the main library of the University of California in San Diego. Built in the 1970s and renamed in the 90's in honor of Audrey and Theodor Seuss Geisel, or better known as Dr. Seuss! This fine example of Brutalist architecture contains over 7 million volumes of books and other educational materials, including roughly 8,500 items of Dr. Seuss's own work, collections and achievements.

Killarney Glen Waterfalls

This is the world's coolest jacuzzi. Just kidding! It's actually the iconic natural heart-shaped pool of Killarney Glenn Waterfalls in Queensland Australia, just an hour away from Brisbane. The pool, when open, can be accessed directly by jumping straight into it or through an opening a bit further downstream. Do note that it is currently closed to the public but hopes are up that there are plans to re-open it.

180 Depot Road, 05, SG

The Interlace Singapore

Look…an entire neighborhood of Jenga-block buildings! This complex sits on roughly 8 hectares of land with over 1,000 apartment units separated into 31 6-storey buildings stacked against each other, resembling jenga-blocks. They are stacked up to 4 buildings at the center for a maximum of 24 floors that provide each unit with a view of surrounding areas. The Interlace, in Singapore, was designed by OMA and Ole Scheeren and won the World Building of the Year for 2015. Plus, it’s also just a short walk from the equally beautiful Henderson waves bridge and Mt. Faber.

Bishop Castle

This isn't just any old American castle. This is Bishop Castle in Custer County, Colorado, and it's an elaborate creation, or maybe obsession, of just one man, Jim Bishop. Built with stones from around the property for well over 40 years... it's one of the most unusual roadside attractions in Colorado, and makes for a fun stop whenever you find yourself in the area.

6200 Sunndal, Romsdal County, 15, NO

Innerdalen - Norway

Whoa. Lush green grass, beautiful mountain peak, rustic cabin... meet Innerdalen, Sunndal, one of Norway's most beautiful mountain valleys. The cabin in the photo is one of the two Innerdalshyttene cabins that are run by the Norwegian Mountain Hiking Association, and serves as a rest stop for some hikers looking to conquer the 1,394 meter Dalatårnet in the backdrop.

Landwasser Viaduct

Is that the Hogwarts Express? Actually, this picturesque piece of architecture is the Landwasser Viaduct in Switzerland. It's the highlight of the Unesco World Heritage-listed Abula Railway, with 6 arch spans resting on five high pillars in a circular arc, with one of the exits going straight into the Landwasser tunnel. Looks so rad!

Ever wanted to spend the night in a teepee? The traditional cone-shaped tents have been historically used by indigenous people in different variations around the world. But the colorful teepees in the photo are modern versions of those, and are part of the Capitol Reef Resort in Torrey Utah. They're pretty sweet and allow you to enjoy a more authentic Red Rocks experience. Plus your teepee comes complete with a king bed, private bathroom and modern western furnishings. Now that's glamping!

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre

This open-air amphitheater surrounded by natural rock formations is the iconic Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater in Denver, Colorado. It has a long history of being used as a stage where performances are held due to its natural acoustic surroundings. In its current form, which was completed in 1941, it can seat up to 9,500 people, and had been used as a venue by some very famous artists and bands, like the Beatles, U2 and Depeche Mode...and loads more. Super rad!

Calle Lucerna 51, Col. Juarez, DIF, MX

Comedor Lucerna

This beautiful (and ridiculously whimsical restaurant) is the Comedor Lucerna. It's the perfect spot to grab a burritos, tacos, pizzas, or a nice cold cerveza. Plus you'll also get to rub elbows with everybody at this unique food court in Juarez Mexico.

Alberobello, Bari, 75, IT

Alberobello

The Trulli (plural for trullo) are ancient structures, or dry stone huts, made from stacked limestones. This means the cone-shaped roofs in this photo are all dry-stacked limestones...and there are about 1,500 of them in the southern Italian town of Alberobello! This historic town was founded around the 16th century and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1996.

Pizza Barn, Yonkers

I feel like I've died and gone to pizza heaven. This giant 2-foot long slice at the Pizza Barn in Yonkers, New York is perfection on a plate. Plus, it comes with mac-n-cheese, lasagna, or even cheeseburger and fries for toppings!

Drive-Thru Tree Park

This 2,400 year-old, 315-ft. redwood is called the Chandelier Tree, and you'll find it inside the long-running Drive-Thru Tree Park in Leggett, Northern California. The opening is roughly 6-feet across and 6-foot 9-inches high giving ample space for most cars and even SUVs to pass through. Of course, that’s just one highlight of the park, there's also tons of other stuff to see, like the three-foot tall sword ferns or the ancient giant horsetails.

With over 200-acres and close to a mile of beachfront perfection, Playa Viva in Juluchuca, Guerrero Mexico is a luxurious eco-hotel that's too legit to quit. You can enjoy nature and recharge yourself with their daily yoga activities, spa treatments and organic meals… oh and while you’re there, why not release some baby marine turtles from their Turtle Sanctuary!

Whoa. Now that's a lake! This lake is quite unique in that it's only separated by a 90-foot cliff from the ocean below. Lake Leitisvatn is the largest lake in the Faroe Islands. But where are the Faroe Islands? Middle Earth? Actually, this group of islands is located in the North Atlantic Ocean, between Iceland and Norway, and although autonomous, it's under the jurisdiction of the Kingdom of Denmark. But, that lake though...

Via a Banos, N, EC

Pailon del Diablo

Is this the world's most extreme waterfall hike? Quite possibly. This is the amazing Pailon del Diablo (Devil’s Cauldron) in Baños, Equador. The hike to the waterfall is an adventure in itself, and filled with local flora and fauna. For the more adventurous, there’s also a zipline, and a relatively new suspension bridge.

Vindoella 621, Borgund, 06, NO

Borgund Stave Church

As much as I'd like to believe this was a witch's house, it's not. This is in fact a Medieval era church built sometime between 1180AD and 1250AD...or about 800 years ago. It's called the Borgund Stave Church in the village of Borgund, Norway. Its walls are formed by vertical wooden boards or staves, hence called a “stave church”, and it’s the best preserved one among Norway’s 28 stave churches (probably the most popular too). It hasn't been in regular use since the 19th century, when a new church was built just next to it. Today it functions as a museum, which can be visited during the summer months for a small fee.
