Family trip through Northern California, Southern Oregon, Southern Oregon Coast, and Northern California Coast
1562 Jensen Ranch Rd, Santa Maria, California United States
240 E Agua Caliente Rd, Sonoma, California United States
Incredible campground! Hiking, biking area with rope swings, playground, dog park, BMX type riding for bikes, pedal go-cart rentals etc. Well stocked store. Spacious, level, rock sites with nice fire pits. Short drive to lava tube and Lassen National Park. Very nice people/staff. Definitely a place we will visit again.
Yellowstone of California. Beautiful park with great hikes. Most of park was closed to traffic, road closed only 9 miles from entrance, due to snow and downed trees from heavy winter. Peaceful to walk/hike in park without traffic.
Short drive from KOA. Must do while visiting the area. Many small streams with picnic areas along the way to stop for lunch or just a peaceful walk/visit.
Visible from the road as you leave Burney and pass by the lake. Filming spot for the train bridge scene from Stand by Me. Nice photo-op, or just to see as you pass by.
Run down, nothing like the picture. Located in a bad area of Medford. Decided not to even enter and visit.
McArthur-Burney Falls State Park, Burney, California United States
Beautiful falls. Path/hike takes you from top to the bottom. If you complete the circle, it will take you down the creek a bit through a beautiful temperate climate unique to the area, rare for California, with lush greenery. It continues back to the top and completes a circle. Very nice hike. Trail can be taken to Lake Britton PSEA camp as well.
Nice photo-op located at the chamber of commerce.
Very nice staff and well stocked store. Located away from town along a creek. Spread out park, lower area along creek was very nice for access to swim and cool off with short walk. Lots of shade and 5th wheel trailer with extra bathrooms/showers specifically for the use of campers. Uphill walk to get to store but worth the walk to stay down by the creek.
Absolute must do while visiting Grants Pass! Pricey but worth every penny. Food was great, wine and beer was cheap but included. Boat ride was incredible. Saw a lot of wildlife including bald eagles, osprey, heron, deer.
Very fun cave tour. Road is narrow and windy but take your time, it's worth the drive. There is an old hotel, originally built in the 20's, on site which would be a great place to stay for a romantic getaway. A lot of history, easy walk through the caves. The gift shop is reasonable and the café has great food with an old 50's diner feel.
Bullards Beach State Park, Highway 101, Bandon, OR, US
Very neat, small lighthouse to see. Nice photo-op. Bandon was a neat little town to visit.
Majestic view of the beach and rocks. Very nice photo-op. Would be a nice place or a walk on the beach if not too windy depending on the day.
Beautiful campground nestled among redwoods along the coast. Short drive to explore Bandon or Port Orford and surrounding area. Extremely friendly staff. Nice pool and hot tub. Small store but stocked well with all necessities. Had some great homemade s'more marsh mellows that were delicious. Very nice place for a short or long stay!
A lot of animals at this park. Very fun place for a family visit. Opportunity to handle/pet many animals that you would not normally get close to. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. animals all appeared in good health and happy. Plan to spend some time at this park, half day at least would be best but if limited, still worth a visit.
Really neat lighthouse with great history. A nice staff providing information while touring and visiting. Able to actually climb the stairs to the light and see out with the tour guide.
Not really a lighthouse anymore. Unfortunately it is privately owned now but it is still kept to look similar. This picture is accurate. The structure can only be seen from the parking lot of the hotel below it (the roof tops you see at from the hotel).
