Don't miss our new birding area. This campground offers spacious RV sites featuring back-in and full-hookup Pull-Though sites up to 65 feet. Our deluxe patio sites include a BBQ grill, patio table and chairs. Deluxe Cabins have a full kitchen and bath, A/C and heat. Linens are provided for the main bed. The campground is so well kept it looks brand new and it is one of the original KOA locations!!! It is super clean, great knowledgeable staff, fun activities, and lots of amenities. I wish we could of stayed here longer. Our site was right next to this meadow with extra soft grass that was great for 8mo to crawl around on. Our favorite part by far was this 30 foot swing back in “the woods” that we spent a good amount of time on (adults included).
We drove about 30 minutes down the road from our KOA to Lassen Volcanic National Park. Once inside, we drove up the mountain for an additional 40 minutes passing crystal clear lakes, babbling creeks, and crazy cliff views (and Bumpass Hell).

First time RV camper so I came here to test out my new rig. Had a great time even in winter. Clean park and nice managers. Will be back during the summer season to get the full use of this park.

Some partial and some full hookup and some tent only sites. You cannot specifically reserve a site but can reserve one of those classes.
All the regular amenities are in good order, bathrooms, shower, pool etc.
WiFi is called “limited” which it definitely is. Some days we’d get a little throughput for a few minutes and could check email. Other days, not so much. Forget out posting photos to social media and be sure you download any videos you want to watch before you get here!
Verizon had a single bar, good for voice but no data. Cell booster bumped that to 3 bars with a yagi antenna (max gain) but data was still not present.
Staff was very friendly. Park is small and other than a few perimeter sites you are really going to get to know your neighbors’ every move.
Convenient to the National Park.

This KOA is tiny, BUT that makes it awesome. Why? Because it never feels crowded. There is good separation between sites, albeit achieved with fencing. The campground itself is surrounded by forest. While close to highway 44, you don't hear traffic at all. The sites are also very spacious and easy to access! Great jump off point for the central section (Manzanita Lake, Lassen Peak) of Lassen Volcanic National Park. Shingletown is close by and has gas and a Dollar Store, more like a small Target. This KOA has a ton of amenities such as a pool, frisbee gold, playground, hot clean showers, and the ever popular laundry. The staff is very friendly and eager to help you out!

How does the owner hire so many enthusiastic staff members? This is a wonderful place to visit, as the sites are laid out in such a way that almost every site is private. All the sites are nestled amongst trees. There's a huge forest walking area with all sorts of recreational activities (horseshoes, volleyball, disk golf, mountain bike trails, basketball, etc.). Close to Mt Lassen NP. The only (& I mean ONLY) negative is marginal Wi-Fi. We WILL stay here again.

The prime location is the only thing about this KOA that I enjoy, but I’m not a KOA fan to begin with.
All I can offer about this place is that it’s your typical KOA.
Long story short: this area has a massive amount of camping options, for both tents and RVs, but especially a ton of tent camping in this area.
PG&E land and public lands all around have campgrounds to explore that are much better than this KOA.
Plan to do your big shopping in Redding, or Susanville.

Spent 3 nights at this location. Spots are a bit close but plenty of privacy with the trees. Speaking of trees there are plenty, we hung up hammocks and maybe took a nap or two. No luck in using satellite TV, there just wasn’t a clear view to the sky. Many of things to keep you busy at this campground. Pool, ping pong, basketball, really cool tree swings. 4 stars only because of the pathetic WiFi. They actually say their Wifi is terrible in their handout materials. The lack of WiFi is a bummer because both AT&T and Verizon cell coverage is nearly nonexistent. Ending on a positive, the staff was friendly and helpful.
