Nepenthe Restaurant is a family owned enterprise which includes a Restaurant, Cafe (Cafe Kevah) as well as a Gift Shop (The Phoenix Shop.) Built by the Fassett Family, the restaurant opened its doors in 1949. Still in the family over six decades later, the restaurant, cafe, and gift shop continue to serve the visitors to Big Sur with pride. Nepenthe Restaurant serves lunch every day of the year from 11:30 - 4:30. We serve dinner from 5:00 - 10:00 every day except Thanksgiving & Christmas. Cafe Kevah is now open 9am-3:30 pm.The Phoenix Shop is open 10:30 to 7pm seven days a week.
