Our adobe motor lodge was considered modern in 1957 and 50 years later Glen Oaks Big Sur has a fresh rustic-modern and Green sensibility. Our remake takes the lead from the original natural adobe walls, known for keeping the hot sun out and the warmth in, and uses recycled and renewable stone, Peroba wood, bamboo, resin, wool carpets and organic cotton for a healthy and natural environment. Walk-in showers are evocative of showering in the forest, but the stylish chrome and porcelain fixtures will bring you back to the modern world.

Lovely lodging in an area with few options. Beautiful comfortable rooms, charming outdoor fire pit, and proximity to excellent dining at the Roadhouse across
the street.

Beautiful mid century design motel. Restaurant with good food and drinks just across the street. Gorgeous hiking path behind the restaurant that takes you through the redwoods and down along a small river. We enjoyed the bonfire at night as well! The most relaxing and perfect place to stay for our anniversary. I would absolutely stay here again.

A wonderful weekend!

The spacious rooms and the modern decoration with the cozy atmosphere, pleasantly provided us with the warmth and relaxation we needed the specific moment!

The garden was the best choice to drink our coffee and enjoy the fire set at the barrel.

The food at the roadhouse restaurant served us delicious meals at affordable prices and the staff was always and cheerful and smiling!

Glen Oaks we will be back next time we visit Big Sur ...
