Small lake, people fishing, easy access, spotty cell service...0$ for no hookup, 20$ for electric and water, no sewer.
The campground is about 10 miles off of I-70. 6 of those miles was on a highway and the rest was on several county gravel / dirt roads. The county roads were in good condition. The dry camping spots around around the lake. There's water spigots throughout the campground. There are sites with electricity here for $20 a night. Several vault toilets at this campground. No dumpsite at this location. The campground wasn't busy. My wife and I had a quiet and relaxing night.
Found all previous reviews to be correct except that it is not free for non water/electric sites. Signage says they are $5 each. Also noticed there are more sites on the top of the ridge on left side of the road. Entry is down at the end of the road. Assume they are non water/electric sites but did not check it out. There is a disc golf 9hole course here too and several you men came and played a couple of rounds while we were here. Would definitely come here again, it is worth the 15 + mile trip off of I-70. Day trippers were here off and on and only one other overnighter.
10 miles from Goodland with last three being dirt/gravel. I found the roads in surprisingly easy to travel. I have a chevy cargo camper van with not the best suspension and thought it was pretty smooth ride. I had no Tmobile signal at all which would have been ok but the flies were awful.
I did stay about 3 hours and took my cats outside to give them a break from 5 days on the road. Such a beautiful spot. Well cared for and I would definitely keep this in mind for a fall stay
We were pleasantly surprised to find this oasis in the middle of corn fields. We were the only ones there, what a special stay.
Started out nice as we found a basic spot near the lake and we were the only ones. Others came through as there is nothing around except for this so it must be something to do. About dark 2 cars pulled in and 4 people got out. They hooped and hollered all night and slept in their cars off and on. Fortunately we were on the other side of the lake (.25 miles), but they definitely spoiled an otherwise great night. There are electric sites lined up in a large open gravel area and a playground nearby. It seems the open lot is lit up by lights at dark.
A steady breeze made for a comfortable experience and kept the flies at bay, A row of parking lot style sites include water-electric, but we opted for a grassy site that had shade from the summer heat. Several day users but only 1 other camper while we visited.
We stayed here on 8/20/21 for 1 night while passing through Kansas. $20 a night at a drop box for the electric water sites. nice flat gravel site, great play ground. The drive in is a few miles of dirt roads. They were a little washboard when we drove them.
Nice big shaded sites nestled under a bunch of Dogwoods. The playground is pretty epic for a campground in the middle of nowhere. Lots of dirt roads to get there and we had no signal whatsoever with T-Mobile. We were the only ones in the hookup area. There was a family camping in the dry camping area. Quiet, lovely little oasis. There were a lot of flies.
Campground at a small oasis south of Goodland, KS. 2 gravel dirt roads after you get off 27. Drive-thru, flat camping & compost toilets. Quiet & dark camping.
