“connect & unwind”
“…nothing so liberalizes a man and expands the kindly instincts that nature put in him as travel and contact with many kinds of people.” – Mark Twain The endless river traffic of the Mississippi is the main attraction at TOM SAWYER’S. The atmosphere is relaxed, laid back and peaceful while the RV Park is clean, well maintained and totally natural. The view of the sun rising over The Mississippi River is rivaled only by the full moon rising in the fall. Plenty of trails and wildlife compliment the nicely mowed fields and long, level concrete sites. Across the River is unspoiled Tennessee flood plain and just one bend upstream is the Memphis skyline. If it’s fishing you are looking for then look no further since we have a lake and two ponds stocked with an amazing array of fish.Tom Sawyer’s is only a few very convenient miles on a smooth, new road from both I-40 and I-55 as well as 15 minutes from all the great action in a resurgent Downtown Memphis or 25 minutes from Graceland if you’ve never been! Our RV sites are easy access pull-thrus with 30 or 50 amp power, city water and city sewer. After hearing from multiple people that staying any closer to Graceland would put us in a high crime area, we picked this place (about 15 minutes away) and it was a great choice. You can opt to stay right on the Mississippi River or a bit father back among huge beautiful trees. It's well run and clean with free really nice laundry facilities. You can buy copies of Tom Sawyer in the office and they pick up trash multiple times a day from each site. I'd definitely stay here again.
This is a nice quiet park with beautiful views of the Mississippi River. There isn’t really anything to do, and it’s super hot if you don’t have a lot by the trees, but it was great as a stopping point on our way through.
Great, safe place for a stopover. Office was very efficient and friendly. No playground or resort amenities, if that’s what you’re looking for, but the river and frequent barges were a unique feature and kept my kids entertained. Level sites, nice open spaces. After a long day of driving, it was also great to find out that Papa John’s delivers - right to our site! We’ll definitely stay again for an overnight.
Very very rustic!! But I love it. We were in site # 70 which is one of the closest to the river. Unfortunately it was a rainy day and the river was all fogged in, but it still feels almost magical to watch all the water flow. This place may not be for everyone, if you're looking for all the amenities of a fancy resort, but if you would rather feel a little more " roughing it" this is a great place. Because of COVID the office is closed, so I didn't get to see what they might have there. The bathrooms are also rustic, and old, but clean. The laundry is free! Yippee. I like it.
Very nice park to stay at. Right along the river and it's beautiful. Only downfall is outside the park is a bit sketchy, but it does not float into the park. We've stayed about 4 times now.
Love parking on the mighty Mississippi River watching the barges. Very inexpensive. Wash house and FREE laundry. Very quiet and clean. Very clean. Off away from the city and secluded. We will be coming back for sure.
This is a fantastic place. Open space, on the river, gorgeous and green. Staff were very nice. We’ll definitely be back.
We were able to stay right on the river. It was a beautiful view!
We stayed there one night but really enjoyed it. Our site was gravel, pull through, and right on the river. There are benches along the shore where you can sit and watch the river traffic. That was easy from our picnic table as well. We were there in April so these sites were perfect, but if it was hot, you might prefer to be under some trees further back. It was an easy 15 minutes into Memphis with shopping nearby. The laundry was free (a first for us) but the water is only cold and we had to run the dryer twice to get our clothes dry - still we're not complaining! We would definitely stay there again.
So peaceful. Such an amazing serene view of the river. Very clean and quiet for a Friday night. Off season is perfect time to visit, love the fall colors next to the water. We will definitely keep this park on our rotation. Thank you Tom Sawyer’s RV Park for a wonderful stay.
