“Real Barbeque since 1983”
Andrew & Rose Pollard founded A&R Bar-B-Q in 1983 as a fast food take-out restaurant.
Over the years, it grew, providing customers the option of dining-in, as well as catering.
When the company first opened, a very small menu provided barbeque and hamburgers and service walk-in customers only.
But as the business transitioned into dining-in, the restaurant expanded. A seating area, accommodating 75-80 persons, was added for the large lunch crowds now served day-to-day.
Also, the Latrice Pollard-Anthony Room is frequently used for private parties and large groups.
Catering was soon added to the list of services, and now counts for 1/3 of the business revenue.
In 2001, a second location at 3721 Hickory Hill Rd. opened to accommodate the fast growing Hickory Hill-East Memphis base customers.
Now there are two restaurants in the Memphis area serving hundreds and hundreds every day.
