This park is one of my favorites because of the varied landscape on the 1 mile loop. You start walking through the forest and you come to a clearing, then beside a swamp and then you get sand in you path and are beside a river. Large fallen tree stumps for kids to climb on, the white sand is a stark contrast and the views of the river are very nice. Bring a picnic lunch. The walk is maybe an hour.

I concur about the butt. Even if you don't pay to go up there are nice views of the city from the platform. You have to pay for a small museum too.
