This hotel was the highlight of our Rt 66 cross-country motorcycle trip and we are still talking about it 3yrs later! This is such a cool and iconic Rt 66 destination. This was the primary inspiration for the Cozy Cone motel in Cars, and the owner has Pixar concept drawings in the lobby. The owner takes a ton of pride in the location and loves sharing its history with visitors - he is a real treasure! Even nice enough to move the car parked out front at night so visitors can get photo ops with their vehicles.
The rooms were antique but comfortable with 100% refrigerated air. We also appreciated the security of attached garages for our bikes and gear. One note is that check-in hours are limited - it’s operated by one family who can’t be kept up every night for late check-ins, and they want you to arrive with time to enjoy the destination.
Highlight of the stay was when the neon lights and music came on around sunset - pretty much all guests were hanging out outside and enjoying the atmosphere. This is a true antique 66 treasure which is being given the love it deserves.
