Located just off I20 east of Dallas, this park offers everything you'd want from a premium campground, complete with friendly service and a welcome cookie, all at a reasonable price (Good Sam discount included). I really enjoyed using the pool and jacuzzi, and they even have a gym and other recreational outlets, along with a water feature if you're lucky enough to have a site backing onto it. Full services at the pull through site made this an ideal stopover from Santa Fe to New Orleans. Others have commented on noise from the nearby I20; we heard nothing. Perhaps ask for a site away from the road. They really take pride here. Wifi; good cell service, cable - the works. No nits.

There seems to be a Ruby’s empire, where everything has Ruby’s name in front of it. As others have noted, the sites are very close to one another. The area is nicely wooded. There is a general store which is convenient but very expensive. Rubys diner has the worst food we’ve eaten at in the 40 days we’ve been on the road, so there’s that, if you’re looking to set records of any kind.

The public restroom was excellent and very clean. There was a fire pit which was nice, if confusing, given that the risk of fire in the area at the time we were there was very high. Ruby’s told us that they merely follow guidance given by the National Park Service.

There was a spot for shuttle pick up and drop off and for a 3 1/2 hour guided bus tour of Arches that was free with a senior or national Park pass.

Two excellent reviews of this campground precede mine; the only reason I'm posting is to say their observations are still current in 2019. However, I found the wifi to be excellent; ditto for ATT. Access to Baddeck and the Cabot Trail was very convenient. Site five, closer to the road, was nicely flanked by trees and although the noise from the main road was apparent during the day - when we were gone mostly anyway - it is quiet at night. Public facilities VERY clean.

This full service campground is ideal for visiting DC. It’s easy to get to, just off a federal highway. While there is a bus stop inside the campground, we elected to drive <20 min each way (depending on traffic) to the college park metro station. Get your senior Metro card at the well -staffed, well-stocked camp store on arrival. Bathrooms large and clean. Pool with lifeguard! Lots of amenities and very friendly staff. Noise from nearby highway, but didn’t affect us. Not much room between sites. We didn’t care. Imho most people don’t use this cg as a place to hang out -didn’t see many campfires or folks lounging around their trailers- but for what it excels at- an easily accessible, safe, well-staffed base of operations for your DC visit. Highly recommended!

I was hoping to stay here in July and leave a first review for the community, but was unable to make a reservation. There is no online reservation system; it's call in only.

There was a voice message when I called numerous times over several days, but never did a person answer the phone or return a voice message.

This place may or may not be the Taj Mahal of campgrounds, but based on my experience they certainly have a long way to go in terms of how to operate a campground reservation system, so let the buyer beware!

PS - I only left one star because Campendium won't allow a no star review, even though that would have been my rating.

It's new. It has paved roads to get to the gravel sites, which have illuminated pedestals and reflective signs with the site numbers. Wifi is very good. Bathrooms and laundry facilities are excellent. It's as close to Glacier NP as you can be without being inside. 3 bars of ATT.

I just came from KOA east glacier (see my review if interested) and although there are many comparisons, such as outstanding location and access, there is no comparison with facility, which is far superior. It makes me long for new campgrounds to go with the spike in RV sales, and I hope they use this place as a model.

It is very busy, but site distance is acceptable and there are picnic tables for each site. Very few trees.

No fires, but they have rings.

This will not go down as one of the most beautiful or spacious parks I’ve seen. Many of the spaces are very close together, as was ours. There appear to be a lot of full timers, and many of those sites were not eye pleasing, for all that matters.

However there are three separate ways in this in which this campground elevates itself from a three star to a solid four star review.

First, all the campground people we dealt with, from the last minute call from the road to in person interactions, to host Don, were superb, based on their friendliness and accommodating nature.

Second, the laundry room and bathrooms were very clean and well-maintained.

But the most impressive thing to me about this campground is proximity to a great trail, the willow lake loop trail. I have a special place in my heart for campgrounds where I can walk directly from my camper onto a trail, and a memorable one at that. This one delivered.

Although it took me three hours to make the six mile loop and is moderate on the whole, with a fair amount of elevation and climbing on rocks if you go in one direction, it was a wonderful hike and one I highly recommend.

If you just want to do the easy, level part through fields, start at the boat ramp and go in a counterclockwise direction until it ascends to the rocks, then turn back.

For a more challenging, beautiful and fun hike, while facing the lake, go counterclockwise from the boat ramp into the rocks. Have fun finding and following the well marked trail by looking for white paint marks on the rocks.

I did the entire loop. In over three months on the road, this was the best trail from a campground that I have found.

I also feel like we shortchanged Prescott, which looks like a cool place to hang out. We just used it as an overnight and to that extent for $40 I had water, sewer and electric. Can’t argue with that!

This is a solid overnight choice and could merit an even longer visit, but there are lots of other campgrounds in the area and I can’t compare this to them.

That’s why we have and love Campendium!!

This is a clean public rv park that is not pretty, but which offers w/s/e and WiFi in a convenient, clean spot from which to explore the palouse. Very quiet. Small- only about 10 sites, some pull through. Gravel sites. Be careful about high water pressure.

This park very much presents itself as a family-friendly site, and I leave it to others with children to speak to whether it delivers, but it certainly seems to try.

In our case, we simply needed a convenient base from which to explore Lincoln, and this fit the bill. It also has lots of trees, although it is a bit crowded. They have a pool and a sauna. I can’t speak to cleanliness because I didn’t use public facilities. Some might find it noisy since it is adjacent to the highway. We were fine with it.

I agree with fellow reviewers, who wrote:

“this park provides all the things needed to hook up and stay in the Pismo Beach area. The location is the main thing in our opinion.

However, the sites were very close together… I did not like the fact that the sewer connections for an RV were in very close proximity to the picnic table area for a neighboring RV.”

This is the first site I’ve had in an 80-day trip where there wasn’t room for our trailer and tv on the same site. There was nearby guest parking, but there was also a warning there had been recent burglaries involving bicycles, so I was concerned. The site is dirt and rock. I didn’t even hook up sewer because my connection was right next to my neighbor’s picnic table. I’ll pull into an empty site on the way out and dump there. There are plenty of sites here that are better. In fact, probably all of them. There is variable pricing. So I would stay here again, but I’d be very careful not to get a site this small, the worst of our trip.

Curiously, while there is almost no room between RVs in the area where we were parked, the view out back is pristine and expansive, an interesting contrast.

WiFi is $5 per day, but att cell service is strong. Laundry and showers are clean but dated and nothing special.

There are other campsite options in the vicinity, but based on the reviews they aren’t better.

To end on a positive note, we had an excellent seafood dinner at Ada’s, and a delicious breakfast at Zorro’s, so there are plenty of good options for dining in the area.
