So much space history in one place! The videos were amazing and the Tram Tour was not to be missed! You do have to pay to park but admission is not bad and it is so worth it. The food options are not great, but as vegetarians we found something, so that's a plus.

Great little coffee shop and eatery. Great customer service! We ordered two drinks: soy latte and americana. Both were outstanding. WE also got a vegetarian croissant sandwich. So yummy! A great stretch break on our long journey to Arizona.

Great park! It's a ways out of San Antonio, but it's really beautiful. The river is gorgeous at sunset. We didn't get to hike here but we heard it was lovely. The bathrooms were great, nice showers. Verizon had spotty service, AT&T wasn't too much better. The campsites were deep in the park and we left the park during the day so that was a little difficult. Overall good experience, we just didn't have enough time to experience it all.

Such a great park! We camped here for two weeks with our 20 foot Airstream. We had so much space. They don't have full hookups, but the dump station worked just fine. The rangers were very nice and helpful. We loved the trails and hiked around the falls a couple times. Plus it's super close to Austin. 15 minutes and you're on South Congress. Verizon and AT&T worked well here. The only bummer is that they close the gate at 10pm and it's a little tricky to open it. We saw lots of deer, pretty much every day. We would totally stay here again. We were in spot 62.

Why we chose here? We needed to get out of the cold and this seemed like the area south of MN where it wouldn’t get below freezing.

Location: Between Denton and Dallas on I-35, near Lewisville Lake

Sites: Typical RV Park, lots of sites packed pretty close together. Very quiet, except for the freeway. Each has full hookups and a picnic table.

Amenities: swimming pool, laundry, workout room, playground, car/rv wash (costs extra), trash (no recycling-we brought ours to a local, public recycling bin)

Cell Coverage/Wifi: Good coverage with Verizon and AT&T. Free Wifi (slow during the day but ok in morning and at night).

Price Paid: $210 for the week (including $17.50 weekly electric charge)

Would we come here again: Yes, if we were in the area.

What a fun venue! The mini golf course was great. But the actual restaurant building is gorgeous. There is so much outdoor seating for dinner or for watching concerts. We didn't eat here (not a ton of veg options), but the drinks were good.

The Trail of Lights was a great after-dinner activity. We walked over from the restaurant (Shady Grove) and meandered through the light displays. We even saw an Airstream that was renovated to house an Krispy Kreme food truck. Great lights! We have to go back next week to spin around under the Christmas tree (advice from a local).

Good beer and wine selection. Tofu pad thai and veggie fried rice were really delicious. The best dish of the night was the po-pea jay (vegetarian spring rolls). Shared tables, a little loud.

Cute shop with great gifts. The soy candles smell amazing and have great names like: Crazy Cat Lady and Unicorn Puke. :) Simple jewelry (necklaces and earrings), greeting cards, and matted art. Lots of great artistry in one adorable shop. They also have an online shop.

Fabulous representation of the history of NASA and the space program. The videos were informative and the artifacts were amazing. There was an actual moon rock to touch and so many pieces of space history. I would highly suggest the Tram Tour that takes you through Johnson Space Center to see the Saturn V rocket that was ready for the Apollo 18 mission before it ended. You also get to see historic Mission Control where Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, and ISS missions were controlled.
We were there 11-5 and still didn't get to see the whole museum. Definitely stay they whole day. They have a cafe (that's mediocre) and a Starbucks. Dress warm, the theaters are chilly. The gift shop is nice and has lots of fun gifts.
