Absolutely beautiful! We loved our visit. The kids were able to ride their bikes and we saw lots of wildlife (birds, alligators, etc). There is also a paved drive thru for those who don’t want to/can’t walk.
We loved this campground! The staff was super friendly and everything was so clean! Our kids had a great time riding bikes, fishing (you can fish without a license and can keep a few fish per person for free —if you want), and playing bingo in the bicycle barn (their game room / gathering area).
Townsend is close to Harris Neck wildlife refuge —so definitely check that out while you’re there!
Note on the price: we paid about $350 for a 7 night stay. After two occupants, they do charge $3 per day per extra occupant (we have 3 kids, so an extra $9 a day).

Great biking trail! Our 6 year old was able to complete it, so it’s definitely beginner friendly! Convenient access if your camping at Lake Eufaula Campground.
We really enjoyed our stay here! Convenient location to Eufaula and an awesome, paved bike trail (Yoholo Micco) is right across the gravel road, so you can ride your bike straight from your campsite. They have great pull through campsites —and larger sites to accommodate our 40ft camper (with 30/50amp sites). The playground isn’t super modern but a just a couple miles away is Old Creek Town Park and their playground is phenomenal. The bathhouse facilities are a little old, but definitely clean —and that’s all that matters to us! The owners are super friendly and helpful. And the campground is very dog positive :)
Clean, well kept park. Nice playground for the kids and some good hiking trails
Nice little campground. Clean bath houses. Sites are well kept and the staff members are very helpful!
What a fun child’s museum! It’s inexpensive and has so many activities and learning opportunities for the kids. My kids (ages 12, 8, and 3) LOVED it!
