We’ve camped at Leelanau State Park 4 times. Although the majority of the 51 sites are not on the water, there are 8-10 that are, with maybe 10 others that are across the campground loop road from the water. Small campground beach area. There are 2 small cabins and 1 larger cabin to stay in also. Very quiet although it was full when we were there. Lake Michigan is beautiful here. Fantastic sunsets! Some hiking trails at land conservancy property near by and at Cathead Bay, about 5 miles away from the campground. Lighthouse near-by. They sell firewood and ice here. We had a couple of days of flies biting the legs and ankles, mercilessly, so we suggest a screen room to jump into. Cutters bug spray or Picaradin didn’t work on these pesky critters!

We stayed here 5 nights and the place exceeded our expectations! Trout fishing, national scenic Pere Marquette river and a short spur trail to the North Country Trail. 16 Sites in an fairly open field, which was great for us as we need to use our solar panels to top of our batteries! 4 group sites also. Cleanest vault toilets we’ve ever had seen! Camp host has wood and ice. Try to use coordinates when mapping to get here-we just typed in Bowman Bridge Campground and Siri sent us to somebody’s driveway about 7 miles (as the crow flies) off course. They graciously gave us directions to the campground.

Bay View CG is fantastic! We scored a lakeside site midweek in early June. Pit toilets very clean. Hand pump for fresh water so RVers may want to fill up before getting here. Beautiful sandy beach on an inland sea, Lake Superior.
