Pros:
- Easy to level
- Close to lots of hiking
- Close to town but doesn’t feel like it
- Great service on both Verizon (13.7Mbps down, 12Mbps up) and AT&T (10.7Mbps down, 63.1Mbps up)

Cons:
- Sites are just pull offs of the road so lots of dust

If you come in from I-70 you’ll come to a fork in the road, I was the first site on the right which was huge and could’ve fit a lot of rigs. If you go left it warns you that narrow road but it doesn’t narrow for a mile. When it does narrow, it’s doable especially if you’re smaller but I would probably come in from the other way if you can’t easily backup if you encounter someone else (this is for towing something only) . After Jim Creek Trailhead there are lots more spots, some big enough for multiple if in a group but again I’d come in from the other direction if you want to camp on this side of the trail head.

East entrance closed with sign that says authorized vehicles only. West entrance by the restrooms was open but the road back to the campsites also had an authorized vehicles only sign blocking the road. I probably could’ve chances staying in the lot by the restrooms but it seemed extra sketchy and I didn’t want to get a knock in the middle of the night to move. Had to go to the La Quinta Inn in Limon because the truck stops were full. The La Quinta has rv parking and my combined 49ft of truck/TT fit fine.

I stayed in the first spot you come to on the left on 8/24/20-8/27/20 and was in full shade and had great verizon cell service 19.8mbps download and 4.24mbps upload, att cell service 9.47mbps download and .23 upload. Only downside is very close to the state highway so it was loud all night but I'm so used to it that it doesn't bother me.

I would definitely stay here again as a thousand trails member but would not pay $48/night. For being a TT Park it was great! Showers were hot/clean. Nice field to walk the pups. Barb and Lisa in the office were always so friendly/helpful. Pool opened just a couple days before I left so I didn’t get to use it but it looks nice. 1.5 hours to DC or Richmond, close to George Washington’s birthplace, and close to Ingleside Vineyard which had AMAZING wine. About 25-30 minutes from Walmart but about 10 from Dollar General so plan accordingly. Lots of room for big rigs. Laundry kinda pricy at $2.00/load for very small loads. ATT and Verizon service great.

Potable water available and two lanes for dumping! The sign didn’t say fee required for water/dumping but there is a day use fee station right there so I went ahead and paid to say thanks!

I used this campground as my one week required out of the Thousand Trails system after reading the previous reviews on here. I utilized my Passport America membership to get half off Sunday through Thursday ($22.50/night) and paid full price one night ($45). Only water and electric (30amp site 10- they do have some 50amp). They do have a dump station and honey wagon, not sure if they charge to use the honey wagon as I didn’t need it. Site 10 was a small pull thru. Free HOT showers. Honor system (leave money in envelope) washer and dryer. The pond has a ton of frogs and they are LOUD at night but I got used to it after a couple nights just something to keep in mind. Not much space to walk dogs but they did point me in the direction of Upper Deerfield Rd that had little to no traffic. However be prepared to be assaulted by crazy amounts of bugs if you do go down Upper Deerfield, made for a miserable walk but the campground had no issues with bugs like the road. Didn’t measure the speed of my Verizon or AT&T but I was able to use both to stream with no issues at all and their free WiFi was great too!

I stayed here as part of my Thousand Trails membership that’s why it was $0/night. I arrived during a pretty heavy rain and they still offered to help be my second set of eyes to back into my spot. Every staff member I talked with was great! They advertise free WiFi but at site 844 it was useless. Cell service was also not reliable, didn’t do a speed test it was so bad 90% of the time. Luckily I only needed to work a couple days while here so I drove up to the Ellsworth Dunkin Donuts ~15min away. The Island Explorer shuttle (free!) runs during the summer season only and takes you all over Mt. Desert Island, including all over Acadia. It’s the perfect location for exploring the area. The showers were individual stalls that locked and were close to site 844. However there’s no ventilation in the shower stall so it was pretty miserable. Sites are full hookup including cable. The power was a little finicky so make sure you have a surge protector that you plug directly into the box first. Plenty of room to walk the dogs without encroaching on other’s sites. They tout a dog area but it’s only fenced on one side with the other three sides heavily covered with vegetation but with a beagle, that isn’t sufficient. Sugar Bakery across the road has the BEST blueberry donuts and frozen blueberry lemonades. C-ray lobster on the island was my favorite lobster place. I would stay again but not if I have to work. I’d make sure reliable cell and internet aren’t an absolute must of you chose to stay here. The airport is next door and it can definitely be loud at times but with other noises you get used to it.
