This is a nice grove. You need to hike a little to get to the main Sequoias. The Grizzly Giant is 0.8 miles from the entrance and the California Tunnel Tree you can walk through is about 0.2 miles from the Grizzly Giant.

There is a free shuttle that goes from Wawona (by the visitor's center) to Mariposa Grove that takes about 20 minutes and comes by every 22 minutes. It's worth taking it since the parking lot isn't very big and it is usually full when there are a lot of visitors (eg. holidays).

The Grove is right by the south entrance to Yosemite National Park.

I would have given it a 4, but there are no showers and the bathrooms weren't cleaned in the 3 days we were there... Otherwise, good place to camp, with good shade. Just make sure you check the dimensions of the food box and that everything you take will fit.

Great trial and view, but tough. Prepare yourself mentally and physically, and pack lots of water and snacks. Including lots of stops and breaks, we made it up and down in 6 hours...but it can definitely be done in 3-4 hours.

Nice view of the valley and no hike up to it! Right off of the highway.

This is a beautiful place, but you must be aware of the strenuous hike up, although it has a lot of shade. There are a lot of stairs and it is mostly uphill, but the view is well worth it. We went during late summer (August 31st) and there was still water running down, but not nearly as big as it is during spring. Make sure to bring lots of water and food.

There is a loop trail that starts at the top, past the Emerald Pool and to the right that takes you down a less steep path. However, it is 2.3 miles (vs. 1.5 miles going down the same way you came up). You must keep going up for about 40 minutes before it starts to go down, but there is a view of the falls that is amazing and you can see the Nevada fall from there too.

This is a well worth hike but you must dedicate at least half a day for it.

This is a very small grove but has some big sequoias and not many people come on this trial. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the sign that says 1 mile to the grove and 2 miles to the twin bridges...never found the twins. It is mostly downhill, so remember that for when you return. There are many more things to see in Yosemite, so unless you are nearby or want to kill some time, I wouldn't recommend going here.
