Big fan of quick sprints across the country. I love to visit natural wonders, striking scenery, public art and places to kayak, hike and camp.

Great place to spend a night. We flew all day from Washington, DC and spent the night at this motel. It was quiet and neat and the staff were friendly. The facility does seem to lack adequate parking and you do have to pay to park. Free, reliable wi-fi and a gorgeous view at sunrise. Close to the airport.

This is the favorite trail of my husband and I. It's challenging but the views from the top are awesome! If you love rock scrambling, this trail is for you! You don't need climbing experience but a bit of upper body strength is useful for at least a couple parts of the trail, otherwise it's great even for those new to hiking. You will definitely break a sweat, so bring plenty of water. Usually my husband and I also bring food for lunch. We hike a few times a month and do this trail in about 4.5 hours, including a stop for the overlooks and a lunch. However, when we first started it did take us 8 hours to do the trail.

We arrived late afternoon on a Saturday and had the whole area to ourselves for probably an hour. We stopped at the little display that talks about the cave, and then took the short hike to the cave itself, stopping at a little stair area that had an eroded rock wall dripping with springs. Just beyond that is the cave, though I had thought there would be displays inside however it was completely empty inside and fenced off. Oh well, still a fun little stop and enough of a trek to say we "hiked" in Missouri on our way cross-country.

Sign the guest book! You can park right in front and then walk up. Not much else to see around that we were aware of but it was a nice spot to stop and stretch our legs. We happened to arrive in the early morning hours so we got some great light to capture this roadside attraction. Worth 5 mins of your time

This was one of our early stops on the cross-country road trip my husband and I took this August. The house is located in the garden of the Indianapolis Art Center, which is also worth a visit if you have the time. You walk through the front entrance and straight through the gallery to the doors leading out back. There are plenty of other sculptures around and a bronze statue of a man is across from the house. Make sure you take the time to look around the gardens, it was a great place to stop and spread our legs for 30 minutes!

My husband and I stopped here as our first official stop on our cross country road trip this August. It was a fun place to spend 20 minutes or so, getting silly, quirky, pictures of these giant concrete corn ears. They are definitely unlike most of the other stops on our trip, but still super "corny" but worth a stop if you're in the area!

Gorgeous drive and hike! We arrived sunrise and the views were spectacular! We drove cross country on this trip and this stop was like nothing else we had seen from Maryland to California, definitely worth even a short visit!

The road up to the summit nearly scared the pants off my husband and I. We happened to be driving up as a storm was rolling in, and it was quite a harrowing experience. However, the view from the top was amazing at over 14,000 feet so the drive was well worth it in our opinion. We also got to see a pair of big horn sheep at the top! A must do if you're in the area and don't mind a little adrenaline!
