We did not realize just how close together the sites would be and how difficult it would be to navigate around the campground. My husband managed to do a great job, but he was nervous and we will try the other RV campgrounds nearby before coming back to this one in the future. The positives were that there were so many beautiful Redwood trees around the park, there were 3 trail entrances into the Henry Cowell State Park from the campground, and the San Lorenzo River was close by for the kids to play in. The pool was open and is heated to 80 degrees, but the clubhouse and playground were closed due to COVID-19. The bathrooms/shower are available but very tiny! Trash and recycling tubs were nearby and the kids loved riding their scooters around the park (note to parents, helmets and pads are encouraged by me- my son fell as he went down the hill and was scraped in 6 places! It was traumatic 😂🤦‍♀️). The Santa Cruz beaches are 15 minutes down the hill. Upon arrival, do not take the 9 highway, it's too curvy and narrow for trailers and big RVs. Take the 17 freeway around through Scotts Valley. The campground also provided old washing machine basins for campfires and wood was available for purchase in the little campground store. Also, there was wifi access (slow!) and cable tv. If you have a small RV/trailer or a tent, I highly recommend this campground! The larger ones might want to try down the road.

I recommend this campground to anyone going through Williams, AZ. The check-in was easy, the lady working the desk was kind and helpful. We loved how close we were to downtown Williams/Route 66. Walking to Dairy Queen each night was a plus! The paved sites are great for keeping the dust down and we appreciated all of the amenities. My kids enjoyed the playground and indoor pool. We ate dinner one night across the street at the Grand Canyon Brewery with some friends that came to town. It had great service and yummy food! The Grand Canyon South Rim entrance was about an hour north, and we absolutely loved every minute of our experience there (the hike back up from the canyon was tough, but well worth it). It was nice to have a hot tub to come back to at the campground. The only negatives are that the sites don't have much room between them (which was ok since we spent most of our time exploring) and there are trains that go by from time to time, so bring ear plugs if that bothers you. It wasn't that loud for our family. We slept just fine. What an enjoyable campground!

We came in the middle of May. The temperatures got up to the mid 80s in the day. 50s at night. The kids (we have 3 school aged children) absolutely loved the river and swam in it all day long. The staff was friendly and so were the campers around the park. We hope to return again next year. Also, we had a water/electric back in site, which was fine, but we hope to get a river site with more space at our next visit

It was almost a 5 mile dirt road drive from the main road. There were some washboard sections but we took it slow and made it in our 36 foot fifth wheel. We lucked out and got a pull through site right before all of the campground filled up and overflowed. Surprisingly, it was super quiet at night even with all of the people that were there. It was supposed to be a super bloom. We saw lots of wildflowers. Soda lake was full of water, and was so great to see. There was a little hike with the boardwalk along one side of the lake that was fun to take and we saw lots of caterpillars everywhere. The campsite was adequate. There are no hook ups at all, but there are pit toilets. From other posts, I read there was no water turned on at certain times, but there was a spicket by the horse corral that worked. There is a 4 mile hike right behind the campground that you can take almost straight up the side of the hill and it is a little strenuous, but worth the hike. If you take the full circle of the hike, it’s 4 miles but if you just come right back down, it’s just over 2 miles. We came here with just the two of us but we plan on coming back with our kids because we had so much fun.
